platinum is way more costly than gold (of any sort) . word of caution if you are buying platinum rings , resizing will be an issue (think post-pregnancy for the lady) whereas gold will be easier and cheaper.

yeah i've heard :( but i like how platinum is more durable though :X hopefully my fingers won't swell up so badly!

Thanks! Our wedding rings costs $2.4k
Amy helped us.. she's very helpful and gave us good suggestions. I think she is their wedding rings specialist

was quoted $2.4 as well at the very beginning when we bought the wedding bands from them. (JP)
end up bargain and bargain and bargain to a $19XX :o

Do girls normally wear the proposal ring or wedding band daily? or both?

depends on individual.

After I bought the proposal ring, (dont know about you guys), but suddenly I will take note of other ladies' finger in public :D

I notice most usually wear their proposal ring inside, then the wedding bands outside, meaning both together.

that time I pay attention when choosing my wedding bands to match the ring setting of my proposal ring :)

hahaha, same! I tend to be more aware of other people's ring nowadays and estimate the cut and size.

My gf wears her diamond ring most of them time.. wedding bands not so much.. I'm fine with it.. since the diamond ring costs alot more.. :D

Hi all,

any comments on this diamond?

GIA 5186372495

0.76c / E / VS1 / 3EX / HCA 1.0

Clarity Characteristics: Cloud, Feather, Pinpoint

What i am concerned with is the feather. Not sure if I should take it into consideration, since its a VS1. Haven't seen the diamond with a loupe, so not sure where is it in the diamond.

Price is around 6k.

Hello to all the experts here,

I'm new here and I've just placed a deposit for a 0.60c E VS1 3EX diamond from JP. How come I'm paying 5.7K whereas the 0.76c one shown above by bro Shawnlee only cost around 6K? Am I being over-charged? :s11:

My gf used to wear her proposal ring often.. recently she don't wear it anymore and just the wedding band only.
I think is because some of her friends are getting married and wearing their proposal rings too and when they compare, can tell that her diamond is not so good even though her friend's diamond is smaller.
She didnt say anything about it and she's not the materialistic type.. but somehow I feel that she is uncomfortable to wear it or do people stop wearing their proposal rings after awhile... because i can see the diff myself also

JP price is quite standard if you look through the thread. the size/specs quoted for you is about right if getting from JP . I dont think shawnlee mentioned that he is getting from JP wor.

What diamond did you get?

Its the Celestial diamond 0.43ct. E VVS2.. I got ask her and she say wear wedding band enough already..

Need some advice. I recently bought a diamond ring from Lee Hwa. At first I thought I got a good deal for a 0.43ct. E VVS2 for $4k.. and it is a triple excellent. It was only when I compared it with my friend’s diamond, that I realize my diamond looks sub-standard. My friends diamond is a 0.41ct. G VS1.

It looked more yellow even though my friend’s diamond was a G colour. It was obvious that my diamond had less sparkles and dull. It even looked slightly smaller even though mine is 0.02ct. bigger. I was hoping that maybe it was dirt on the diamond and tried washing it. I even brought it back to the shop to ask them to wash it thoroughly for me. But it made no difference.

When I went to check on my diamond, I read that IGI certificates are sub-standards and is not as good as GIA certificates. What pissed me off the most is that the sales guy clearly told me that IGI was as good as GIA! He told me that the standard was the same and it is popular. Am I able to bring this to the Singapore Consumer Association to complain of them deceiving me?

I came across this HCA tool Holloway Cut Advisor | HCA Tool | PriceScope that you guys are using for a diamond score. One of the factors needed is the depth % of the diamond, which my IGI certificate doesn’t even have.. argh.
I’m more or less convinced that I got screwed over.. You think I can try to get a refund by reporting to CASE?
