Confirmation from Jann
As long as your scopes sent to you are written JannPaul then it's JP's.
They recently just changed receipt.
Bought mine awhile back as well with HOH receipt and called their hotline to confirm :)

Diamonds under HOH are not super ideal?

If they got write it's Super Ideal on the receipt, then it's Super Ideal.
Anyway they will send your diamond's scopes to see too.

Yup... my scopes showed that my diamond is under jannpaul :) cant wait to receive it lah!

As far as I know JannPaul = Jann Tan + Paul Hung (Son of HOH I think). Jann Tan had a shop in the same building at higher floors previously, then he collaborated with HOH to sell the rings. So they are kinda like working together.

Since his business getting better and better, probably HOH staffs helping out to sell the JP rings too.

For me I didn't tell my fiancee about the ring spec at all, even the carat. The only thing I told her was, she is wearing an excellent diamond ring and let her judge the diamond.
It is very funny when I looking at her kept questioning why is the diamond so shiny! hahah

Sounds like a good deal even if it's ideal.

But note that 0.4 carat is a risky size. If you chipped the diamond and caused it to go 0.3X carat, the loss in value will be significant as it will drop into another price tier bracket.

oops i forgot to ask. but she used the scope and showed me, said the arrows are symmetrical. i cant really tell though

Should be ideal cut. Mine was 0.46 colour d vvs1 at $3.5k super ideal. Excluding setting. Juding on the price difference, urs should be an ideal cut. But if u were to get from jannpaul, i strongly suggest you get a super ideal cut if its within ur budget :)
