Do share which is a good starting credit card. Thanks!

Amex true cashback cards has 5% rebates for the 1st 3 months after u receive your card, cap at 5k. means u get back $250. provided the shop carries amex. Other than that what i can think of is charge to your UOB one CC. $800 a month for installment for 6 months can get back $160.

thought i'll post a more detailed review. Made an appt with Jerome after seeing good reviews here. He covered all my questions patiently throughout the education part with illustration.

Wanted an octagon but found out the biggest they had at the moment was a 0.68. After seeing i was torned between a round 0.84 and the 0.68 octagon, he suggested (no hard sell) that i reserve the octagon with a deposit first and think about it since i'm not in a rush. He will update me on new stocks of octagon if there are any. and if there were none and i really wanted a bigger round, i could transfer the deposit for the bigger round.

unfortunately there were no new bigger octagon on my second visit so i went for a bigger round 0.85. he gave me 3 to choose and through our discussion, he made it easy for me to make my decision.

got my scope images today and he also gave me additional shots of the diamond that i've requested for.

all in all, an awesome guy and i really appreciate the effort and suggestions in helping me choose my diamond.

Congrats!! When I was there alot of the Octagons was snapped up already and there was very limited left.. Its heng suay whether just nice they have the specs you want also. I was considering on the Octagon myself too. heh

JP's very accommodating to requests. They let me take photos of their diamonds and stuff, and helped me arranged them too. Casey served me.. a very friendly and humble guy.

Yes!! Yours looks very similar! At first glance, I thought it was the same as mine :s13: Now I can't help noticing how big your main diamond is.. haha. Have you collected your ring? Do you have any photos of it? :)

Yes picked up the ring back on the 25th June. Turned the ring around in 4 weeks for me. Very accommodating!

I havent taken any photos of the ring since taking delivery. Tried with my phone but no luck and didnt get a chance to pull the SLR our to take photos. Jerome was brilliant and the ring exceed expectations considering how quickly it was made.

anyone managed to get 0.90 ct at 8k?

Please share. Apart from JP, any alternate jewelers?

Hi,

I went down to Josigem and was quoted a 0.8ct for 6.8k(diamond only), maybe you want to go down and see if they do have 0.9ct that meet your budget range..

Depends on your cut, clarity, colour, etc... You can get a 0.90ct at 6k too.. but of course you will need to sacrifice on the shine which is not really worth it.

This might not be the right thread, but my wedding was called off and i now need to get rid of the engagement ring and bands, does anyone know where I can sell them?

If anyone wants the ring for a loose diamond I'm happy to consider offers as well. I got everything from JP and have the receipts.

Do share your ring photos when you have the chance. I'm very interested to see how your ring turned out :D

I have cc but my husband paid all cash for my e-ring & wedding band. I think because JP offer 5% off for cash payments. :s13:

I juz been to JP, asked them about the full cash payment but was told no discount given.😞

8k can get at retailers during their GSS. Not sure if GSS still on. But the specs of the diamond sure not good. Either dual excellent, or its si1 those kind. Sure have to compromise on some specs if u want so big but cheap.

I agree with the previous bro that effort and research is very important for buying engagement ring diamond.. no matter what the salesperson tell you at the normal stores, they are comprised of 80% nonsense and sales talk.

I read up 200 pages here and other websites before doing my walkabouts.
Finally confirmed on my Octagon diamond and here is my experience.
Vince helped me throughout the session and I must say it is splendid. JP is my last stop of walkaround and deep down I knew I will get it there before I went down. The service rendered is tops and money well spent. At first I only thought I’d get either the brellia or solasfera but ended up with octagon. This was after looking at them side by side that octagon really caught my eye.

The sparkles on the diamond is unbelieveable… vince saw that I was blocking off light to see the diamond then he brought me outside their store instead and diamond still blinging
End of the day I kept within my budget :)

Big branded stores
Tells me it’s a luxurious brand and my wife to be will love it ???
Way overprice and budget exceeded.
Has some nice designs

Local brand stores
Cheaper than big brands, but still on the high side
Know a little more about diamonds as compared to big stores in my opinion
Most of the time will still try to sales talk me
Limited designs
More friendly than big brands

Private jewelers
Some are really cheap
Diamond quality and selection very limited, most of their diamonds not too good
Some tried to hard sell me
Service wise I can say 2 extreme ends… some are really nice and friendly…some know that I not buying then cant wait to rush me off…

What do you guys think about this H&A diamond?
Got it in the low 1k range with setting.
I didn't use the ASET scope though.
