IMO, the price seems reasonable. I got mine 0.61 E VVS2 Super Ideal for $6,150, with normal setting.Hi Yingmu, it's without setting, plain setting need to top up $550.

VS2 is good enough if it's eye clean. Suggest to go for a larger carat size.
Size will depend on the colour and cut. It's best to let the shop know your budget and bring out a few options for you to compare under different lighting conditions. Quote a slightly lower budget so that you can request for larger diamonds later on and ask for discount to fit your real budget.![]()
TLDR. I think I got sucked into the mindset of three months pay and it didn't help my friends all bought very nice 1.2+ with good specs. That being said do you guys buy from retailers or wholesalers here? I went to a specialist importer in Australia when I got mine for my fiancé.
Nice ring design! I like how the owl head is supported the diamond
How long do they need to do something like that? Looks quite intricate
any good recommendations for quality rings? clock is ticking and need to start shopping soon..

Hi guys!
Just made a deposit for a jp super ideal cut 0.41ct, D, VS1, including normal setting @$3500. GIA number 7198397228. Is it ok? Currently scope images not out yet![]()
Hi guys, is plain setting or with side diamonds more popular?
Main diamond is an Octagon.
If its plain, I'm thinking of something like this.. something more unique.

Or is with side diamonds like this better?

Hi just sharing my views since I have gotten mine.. Do you think your fiancé is someone who will be wearing her ring on a daily basis? If yes, no side diamonds may be more suitable for her in terms of maintenance.
Is she someone who likes fancy stuff or simplicity? If she prefers those fancy big rings, side diamonds or halo settings may be suitable for her.
Does she have average Asian size fingers or slightly bigger? If she has petite fingers, the focus could be on making it simple and classic.
Personally, I had slightly bigger fingers so I felt that side diamonds will make my diamond pop more and not appear so small. FYI my carat is around 0.57.
4 prong or 6 is also worth considering because too small a carat may not look nice with 6 prongs and that's the mistake I had :/
Am personally thinking of resetting my diamond with a bigger one in one or two years time before I get married.
Her finger size is average.. its not petite or big. I feel for practicality purpose, the plain one will be better and a safe choice. Just that I also feel that the side diamonds makes the ring look more special and have that 'wow' factor. thanks bros! i took them myself. simple shots nia![]()
Thanks for the feedback!

My diamond is the Octagon shape and they advised me to have it in 4 prongs.
Btw, do you wear your diamond ring and wedding band separately or together?

I just made an appointment with JannPaul after reading all these post here.
Is there anything I should prepare beforehand or read up first before I go down with my Hubs?![]()
first time so feeling very lost.![]()
