Did I even ask for shop recommendation in the first place?

Carry on the disguised personal insults... say some more...

Wow. I’m sorry. You were talking about diamonds here and we forumers recommend you go to certain shop cause they spend time educating their customers even if they not buying from them. We didn’t know that when you didn’t ask for a shop recommendation, we are not allowed to recommend you a shop. I’m so so sorry almighty Senior Mod. Our fault.

So, what other things we cannot do ah? Say first so that we won’t make your highness angry again.

sad for this thread, such a useful thread and containing so many useful information for boyfriends wanting to take the next step with their girlfriends, and vice versa.. now getting derailed by a flame war and by a snr moderator no less... :s8:

Advisable to get wedding bands from JP? I've bought e-ring from them too.

Design wise is it alot?

Also advisable to buy diamond bracelet from JP?

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 4 using GAGT

for diamond bracelet mah, just feel that the price is high compared to some other shops i been too.. maybe the diamond is of higher quality but in a bracelet, not too sure if i need such high quality diamonds.. anyway the staff still happily serve me despite me just "looking"

Hello smileedee12, wondering if you have collected the your end-product? Saw the 3D render images you shared, does the final product look exactly the same?
Feel that the colour of the render images look more ‘darker/greying ’, would like to ask if the final product look more ‘fair’. Thanks for your advice!

Hi Snappy! Sorry to say, I haven decided on my final design yet. Can't decide between French pave settings or channel settings with milgrains. Wanna help me decide? Hahaha pics below (kindly ignore the milgrains seen on inner ring as I will ask to remove for the clean look :))

I actually asked if I could see any samples that they have of rings in these settings but they don't have those with halo, only wedding band kinds I think have. In any case, Ranjit is away till end of month and bf wanna see the ring settings together but he prefers if Ranjit is around so we're waiting for him to be back before setting an appointment to see settings before I decide on my final design :) appreciate your thoughts/opinions still, if any! :D

Hmm if you go down to see the rings, or refer to images captured by others, I would say for the real one, white gold does look brighter whereas for the rose gold.. I dunno how to say.. It's a different shade? Slightly darker but well, shiny! My friends prefer one solid colour but I prefer 2-tone as above :)

It’s ok ba. Everyone got different opinions and wants. He already say to him cert is king and that’s what he wants. Let the ppl who are expert at certs give him recommendations.

Thank You for your reply, she just told me she preferred the classic ring setting and round diamond, no fanciful shapes.

Yes I have seen the sparkle under the different conditions, the size from 0.65 to 0.71 also does not seem to make much of a difference(150 dollars more for the Super ideal 0.71). I am just wondering if for such a size, most people rather go for the Super ideal or Solasfera if there is any distinct advantages?
or does it just purely boil down to preference?

Also, any suggestions for the ring setting? 4 prong/6 prong, white gold, plat or any diamonds or twisted band? not sure and quite new to all these. Basically everything looks good.

Just saw this and realised no one has responded yet so I shall lol...
If u have read past posts before, many people have mentioned that for solasfera diamonds smaller than 1 CT, the flashes are messy. Then again, there are people who, like u, prefer the flashes from solasfera than the super ideal for CT size smaller than 1. I believe it all boils down to personal preference but let's not forget, it's for your future wife, so what do u think she might prefer? :) actually 0.71 CT is in a different price bracket from the 0.65 ct.. Surprised the price difference only $150? Hahaha must be cuz of the other Cs - 0.65 marginally better in terms of colour/clarity?

You mentioned that she prefers classic settings then i would say no need for side diamonds. You can either decide between uniform or tapered band.
As for prongs, I think u can go with 4 prongs in NSEW direction (to keep the round shape) or 6 prongs even (if she likes Tiff&Co, u can seriously consider this lol).
Platinum may cost twice as much as white gold. Platinum will always remain white while white gold will start to lose its rhodium plating (exposing yellow base) after approx a year of wear. Most jewelry stores make rings in white gold so in terms of resize/reshape/replate considerations in future, white gold will be better. Platinum will give the ring some weight, giving u this luxurious feel while white gold is lightweight, easy for everyday wear. I'm not sure if platinum or white gold is harder (resistant to scratches) but I believe platinum can hold its shape longer. Up to u on whether u wan platinum or white gold! :) I'm going for white gold for diamond ring and platinum for wedding ring ^v^
Anyway, I saw this site before and bf and I kinda agreed with what was written so u may have a look at it:

All the best!

Ya, I was just reading back. Seems like his top priority is cert then check HCA then ok liao.. Actually this kind of shopping very easy.

I'll edit my response to his earlier question on the 0.5 or the 0.57.

Assuming both their HCA scores are acceptable, I'll go for the 0.5 because it's a round value (auspicious I believe?), perfect colour D and second highest in terms of clarity at IF, so hard to find!

Bt in all honesty, if u looked back at another person's reply, his 0.83 ct diamond looks comparable to another's 1.xx ct diamond. I wouldn't want my diamond to look smaller than what it's carat weight is worth :(

Which is why I could let go of the 0.7x cushion brellia shape for my current 0.72 round shape and putting a cushion halo so I still get the overall big look of the diamond and cushion shape (tho now I think with the halo it looks big in the renders HAHAHA but 72 is a precious number to us both so I'm OK :))

Well, exactly what i meant.
No matter where we get the diamond from, the only way to authenticate what we buy is through the cert :(

The woman who wears the ring can't tell anything about the 4Cs without the cert.

Online discussion is just banter for us to make or justify our decision on which cert to buy... lol..

You're highly assuming the woman doesn't do her own research.. In this digital age and time, I think u gotta be careful with this. In any case, there are many online websites and YouTube videos talking about what to look out for when purchasing a diamond and most (at least from those I've read and watched) prioritize cut first because a badly cut diamond will look smaller and may not be as sparkling outdoors in natural lighting as opposed to indoors when light is generally concentrated, especially within the individual shops.. Then I went looking at scopes from online stores (those that provide them anyway), most of the hearts and arrows of their "perfect/super ideal cut" diamonds may not be as symmetrical / straight as JP's super ideal cut diamonds but their light return also not too bad.. Surely there's a reason why they are categorized that way. Granted, we don't walk around with scopes in hand and request to really study other people's diamonds, but minimally people still compare the overall outlook and how sparkly it is.. But of course, if your future wife doesn't care about all this, then anything goes.. Or maybe it's just me.. I like looking at other people's diamonds.. At least for now because my ring nt ready hahaha bt generally the girls around me do compare their diamond rings maybe at most a minute only hahaha bt that one minute can compare so much xD

Normally customized wedding band takes about 2-3mths?

Does that mean that my diamond is of good cut if it looks as good under natural lighting as well as indoor lighting?

Hmm gotta compare with shadowed areas.. Good cut ones still shine.. Better cut ones shine better.. Natural lighting will only look as good if the lighting is as strong as indoor lighting

The moment someone says we are all buying based on the piece of GIA cert is already a clear indication that fellow needs more education on diamond Liao, period. :)

Those who prefer to have cert and ASET images can also consider buying a diamond which is graded by AGS with diamond quality report. The ASET image is printed on the cert.

I previously got a 1.27ct grey diamond but until now haven't had much chance to wear it because I feel that I'm too young to be wearing it (due to size) and it doesn't gel with my normal personality (I don't like to stand out). 🙁

Thinking if I should send it back to James Allen to change into a 0.5-0.7ct white diamond and just call it a day 😂 it will be smaller but cuter too, I just want to look engaged not ENGAGEDDDD..

I think my fiance will :O if I tell him now so maybe next year hahaha
