Collected my Solasfera with SO :) Super super pleased with it :D I'll be holding on to the ringclip/diamond until the day comes but my SO loves it. Makes me happy to see her face light up like that. I don't really buy her alot of stuff cause she doesn't really wear branded things or anything like that. This is the first time I've seen her so happy about a high end item. Solasfera is a freakin nice diamond. LOVE IT! Btw, its a temporary on a ring holder because she wants to slowly custom make her design. Gotta do the deed first.... Fml I propose and accidentally kcock the diamond off the ring holder or something..

Guys just received a quote for this diamond 0.70 g vs2 for 5-6k(report below from gia). Any comment ? I'm worried about the girdle which is slightly thick.

h_ttp://w_ww.gia.edu/cs/Satellite?reportno=5196043808&childpagename=GIA%2FPage%2FReportCheck&pagename=GIA%2FDispatcher&c=Page&cid=1355954554547

I would be more concerned with the proportions. Its not v good. Try to go for 0.7X or 0.6x, not 0.70.
Also, did the sales person disclose to you that this diamond got fluorescence?

he did mentioned about the fluorescent, but since its just "faint" so she didnt pay much attention on it.

What is the concern on proportion? The reason to choose 0.7x is because of chipping?

I'm more impressed at your ability to take a good photo of it. I tried so hard and could never get good photo of my fiancé's diamond engagement ring.

Fluorescence can make the diamond look oily and hazy when its outside under sunlight. So they're usually priced cheaper because of this effect.

Proportions wise, it does not have excellent light return and scintillation. You can use the HCA tool to check. Aim for the score to be under 1.4. After that, you should use the ideal and aset scope to check. Yeah, its also known as the diamond carat magic numbers.

Have you decided on your ring setting? I guess that will be for the next appointment. You can also get them to look out for other stones that you might want to swap to.

Thanks for the advice ! Just one beginner question - though the HCA score is 1.9 for this diamond with light return not under excellent grade, using the cut scoring tool the diamond seems to have a cutting near super ideal (for score >95%). Do u know what reason may contribute to the these results ?

Thanks! It took me alot of tries to even get a clear photo. I used a Samsung phone. I tried using Iphone too but its not as clear.
Need to keep focusing the camera while zooming it in. The diamond is damn sparkly so it'll make the camera going out of focus. Keep trying until you get a clear picture.

I took out the diamond from the clip to take more photos with my hp. It'll probably be better if you have a DSLR camera.

These were taken in my house under a spotlight.

This was taken outside under sunlight. The diamond gets very colorful and glaring. Very hard to take photo but this was my best shot.

Still looks pretty amazing with your photos. Don't get how you managed to zoom in so much and still keep it clear.

Here's the best shot I have of the I bought for the missus (on her hand).

Customised ring box? Like how?

I actually bought quite a cheap wedding ring (relative to engagement ring) - but a lot of shops will offer you the double ring box if you buy both from the one place.

Hey, like embossing the date of proposal or have our names on it, or even LED or revolving stand. Something different den the usual ring box. Any idea?
