Yeah, 0.5ct to 1ct will cost about 300%. 1ct to 1.5ct is also about 300% more. Just that each 1% is a higher $$ as you go bigger.

Did you get the solasfera? Do you mind sharing the diamond specs like the cut, color etc.? I am interested in getting one soon too. Thanks.

Yeah, its a solasfera 1.56 g vs1. You can consider the octagon too which has 88 facets. I wanted the octagon but they didnt have any in the 1.5ct size.

Jp has the best quality diamonds, period. I've been to almost every private jeweller, i think the slight few % investment is all worth when it comes to expensive things

Yup, I wear mine almost everyday even when I go exercising Most of the time I wear it together with my wedding band or I wear both rings on different hands. I'm very happy with my diamond ring and it's almost a part of me now!

i dont know who to approach with regards to purchasing engagement ring .

will you be able to advise me ?

Stress man, our bto coming in like 3 quarters. I went to Jannpaul and can only afford 0.5-0.6cc. Hahaha i gonna have cash flow problem soon.

Imho, there's no hard and fast rule on how much to spend on a diamond. You spend within your comfortable budget and not cough out so much that it hurts your other plans. Your wife cannot be just because of her selfish wants and kills you in the process right..

As above, I spent abt 0.70x of my mthly salary on my proposal ring.

Just a friendly advice, learn how to manage each other's expectations. It takes both parties to make a marriage works. Anyway I was told by JP that they have a buy-back of the diamond within 2 years @ 100% minus GIA re-cert cost, ring trade-in @ $100.
