Haha nope I don't think the operators will allow you to get up during the ride. I also suddenly remembered there is some garden maze, I think it's in Disneyland. That might be a good idea too. Its usually not crowded

I will only be going to Disneysea Haha. Probably I need to check out their attractions in there

Yeah check out the attractions, if you have not been there before, you may be pleasantly surprised to find that it is far less crowded (especially on the non peak days like Monday to Wednesday and in the afternoons). Also, it has the best food of any disney theme park hands down! :s13:

Just put a deposit on a 0.48ct G VS1 @$3200, managed to get a decent deal imo.

I'm considering a simple cathedral design, JP gave me a 3D render of the setting.
What do you guys think?

There is a similar standard design which JP has but with 4 prongs instead of 6. Can consider that to show off more of the diamond.

I considered that too, but the four pronged makes the diamond look a bit squarish in my opinion. I prefer this as the diamond looks rounder with the six prong.

I like simple and clean design! Did you upload yours earlier?

i like a simple 6 prong design! perhaps you can consider asking them to set the diamond lower down so that the shape of the prongs look more like an inverted cone rather than a funnel. Can also ask them to make the prongs as thin as possible so more of the diamond can be seen from the side. You can see how I did mine in page 122, except that mine was 8 prongs haha :)

For me, I personally won't choose such a design. The small holes will trap sweat and dirt over time. Need to use toothpick to dig out.

After reading post in here,
i went to Jannpaul also,
they don really have much choose on Solasfera diamond.

was quoted a 0.513, G, VVS2 diamond for $4.7k
ASG104085293017

is this price worth buying?
is a G grade good enough?

Their Solasfera is very popular. When I was there, they didn't have much stocks left either. Price is about there.

Mine is a G too and it looks very white. Probably cos of the extra bling. Solasfera has many facets which will produce more sparkles. It will make the diamond look 'whiter' and 'bigger'.. haha

Just to play devil's advocate, are you dead set on a Solasfera? Reason I ask is that I personally find that the Solasfera is most beautiful at carat weights above 1 carat. Because of the smaller pinpoint flashes compared to a standard 57 facet round brilliant, at smaller sizes I feel that the Solasfera tends to look rather messy. However, different strokes for different folks, some may prefer the smaller flashes of the Solasfera.

If you are open to considering a normal super ideal round brilliant, you can probably get something a little bigger with the same budget, can consider going down to a VS1 or VS2. The VS1s I saw from Jannpaul are all very very clean. VS2s vary a bit so it depends on what you are willing to tolerate.

Regarding clarity/colour, I'm sure Jannpaul has advised you on what is value for money. It's more or less the universal opinion that G/VS2 is one of the best price points in terms of value, with a bump up to F or VS1 depending on personal preference. Personally, I got a G/VS2 as well. However, it may not always be possible to find a good G/VS2 diamond, simply because the demand is higher and I think they sell out faster. I recall that JP had very few G/VS2 Octagons/Solasferas as well. Easier to find a G/VS2 Round Brilliant because of larger supply.

Yeah. Ultimate decision is based on your own taste. Solasfera advantage is the extra sparkles but when theres alot, it can look messier too. They also have them in much smaller sizes for wedding bands. I considered getting them for my wedding bands too but they didnt have the sizes I wanted.

Another consideration is their Octagon. Its a higher facet too but won't look as messy as the Solafera. But they don't have them in smaller sizes for wedding bands.

i personally got a round brilliant over solasfera,
my qualms was that the size of the diamond affects the flashes of the diamond. having more facets but a small sized (like mine) has more flashes but less intense than a super ideal round.

i went with the super ideal round instead. cant wait for it to be done.
