Bought from JP last weekend. 3rd private jeweller shop I visited but the extensive education from Casey impressed me enough to know that the diamonds I will receive will be professionally explained to me so I thoroughly understand what I am buying. As the crowd was not too bad, he offered to walk me out in the street in various lightings to see how the diamond I chose would performed respectively. It was superbly awesome service so I know what I will expect from the fire, scintillation and sparkle of diamond other than the pretence of lighting display in these jewellery shops.

Nonetheless, help me to evaluate if this is a good and worthy buy for $3850, much appreciated! This is an ideal cut by the way.

I just collected my ring today. This is the outcome. Pretty satisfied with the glitter and overall package :)
Total inclusive of setting is $4450: $3850 diamond + $600 setting.
Note that the yellow hue is due to the camera software on my phone. It's e-grade colourless!!!

Hi guys,

Need some comments on the following diamond from JP:
Brellia
0.554ct
F, VVS2
$4500
Inclusions include cloud near the edges.

Should I be concern since its not feather or needle?

Thanks in advance!

Probably not, cloud just means a group of pinpoints, and it is a VVS2 grade. It is probably difficult to see the inclusions even under scopes.

Pretty! What size is the diamond on your SO's engagement ring? Trying to gauge to see if I want to do this for my own band :)

You sure she wants princess ah?

well, you can do around with the setting to make the diamond 'look' bigger (but of cuz the actual carat size is lower), you'll need a higher setting if you're opting for classic design. if not, halo setting will make your diamond look big.

I'm total clueless on princess cut so i cant advise much on that end, but for round brilliant, all i know is for 'impress' and 'wow' factor, i'll say minimum ideal cut and G color.

As for what mero mentioned....i do heard that higher blue florescence helps with a lower color grade to look whiter...but i've personally never seen it in person and you need to take in consideration of all sort of lighting....i won't advise taking such a risk unless you can see and compare the range of diamonds in person.

Aiya, strave yourself for few months and up your budget lor, problem solved :vijayadmin:

I chose this from their stock design. I'm not exactly an artistic person so I thought the design looks unique enough yet it is a safe choice with heart shape at the sides and 4-pronged heart shape. Not too overpowering in cuteness and yet the curve designs give abit of sophistication.

But it look like super ideal? The scope look nice, how we know it is ideal or super ideal?

It would probably look like a super ideal but according to the person who served me, it was relegated to ideal because of the following reason:
"There are some slight tilt on the arrow shaft and arrow head, particularly at the 3, 6 and 9 oclock position which is what making this diamond an Ideal Cut. However, other than that, everything is fine."

It only goes to show the strictness of JP's criteria in categorizing diamonds to Super Ideal. To me, the diamond is so small (0.6c) that unless one scrutinises the diamond closely, it will be hard to tell about the slight tilt.

If I'm not wrong, JP will explicitly tell u if the diamond is Super Ideal or Ideal cut when you are choosing your diamond on the spot.

Very nice design. like the way how it elevates the stone...May I know how long does it take for the crafting ? one month?

It took them about 8 weeks.this design is only $50 more than the plain classic design, and looks definitely good. If u like the design, for just $50 more its a worthwhile consideration.

Just to add, the person servicing me, Casey, just sent me even better images of the engagement ring I had. DEFINITELY better images since it is a much better close-up; there is a maximum my camera phone could do a manual focus as close as possible.

I have to say at this moment, i'm blown away by their service.
