IGI isn't the same as GIA. They tend to over grade by 1-2 grades if you compare to GIA. That's why IGI diamonds are cheaper but it still might not be worth what you're really playing for. If can, try to change to a GIA cert one. Best is stick to GIA or AGS.

Try to get HCA rating under 1.4. You can compare your price with the older posts. iirc, a Super Ideal cut (GIA cert) will cost around that same price also. And its a better cut.

How do I change to GIA cert? I've already bought the diamond. I was given to compare with some GIA diamonds which this IGI diamond really stand out in terms of shine, clarity, the VS flaw, hca rating etc

Mot importantly, if you have seen the made a physical comparison between the igi diamonds vs other gia triple excellent diamonds, then it is ok. However, if you can compare with ideal/super ideal and find no differences, then that's all u need to do.
Any aset scope that they provide u?

Unfortunately, no aset scope photos. Given the details above, I paid 4.9 with a "true love" setting from soo kee, was I over charged?

I was quoted a super ideal cut 0.5ct F VVS2 for 4.1k. If with the setting it will be about 4.6k. It was GIA certified.

You can try asking the SA if can change to another GIA cert diamond. Compare them with the aset photos to check the shine. Don't compare them just in the shop cos those shop lights will make everything shine. So not so accurate.

You don't trust the jeweller / gemologist report and choose to ask for advice in a forum where the people buy at most 1-3 diamond experience in their life time. Lol.

Part of the reason why I don't bring my gf along. My budget and my gf are mortal enemies.
