Hi...
I new here to this thread..
I have a question to ask..

I saw 2 0.7 carat diamond ring ard my budget.
1st diamond E color wif little fluorescence vs
2nd diamond F color wif no fluorescence..

The rest of all the specs are similar

Which is a better choice??
Intend to use for propose...
Assuming the rest are the same, f colour for me

I'll pice the F one too. fluorescence can make the diamond look hazy or oily under uv light. That's probably why its cheaper even though it has a higher color. It'll be good if you have the GIA cert number and the scopes. The experts here can help you anaylze.

Why would she not accept it? It's not as if F is very far down in the colour grading, in fact it is one of the top grades. Plus between E and F, not many people can see a discernible colour tint in a blind test. Whereas fluorescence is usually a big no-no especially if you are looking to get a diamond with top grades for cut clarity colour etc (which you are).

I find the idea that a girl can even consider the diamond on the engagement ring to be "unacceptable" to be unacceptable, but I'll refrain from poking the dragon in the eye :s13:

I'm given a choice of Octagon cut, F color/IF clarity and D colour/VS1 clarity at $10k.. Which is better?

Part of the reason why I don't bring my gf along. My budget and my gf are mortal enemies.

ask them to shortlist those within your budget

who knows your gf might choose the cheaper 1 :s13:

if you are concern, you can consider do some setting to make the diamond looks better and bigger, eg 6 prong + sides diamond

i think around 1k+ more only for 16 sides diamond

Made a trip down to JP after getting poisoned on this thread. Must say that they offer great customer service and it was a really informative session. Was offered this piece of expensive rock and would really appreciate some comments from the gurus here!

Thank you for looking!

Their Super Ideal cut standard is very high. You can't go wrong with them :)

I've been lurking around this thread for a while and have visited JP a few times and just chose a super ideal diamond that was 1.09.. As the 1.03 F colour was more expensive.
Just received the scopes, wondering if anyone here can take a look at them? I just found the Asset Scope to show some lighter red in the middle.. Am I thinking too much? Was comparing this and a 1.10 but this table size is bigger and looks bigger in person too. HCA of 0.8.

Is this a super ideal? Comparing to some pictures here, worries me...

There is a fair bit of light leakage on the table... the white patches in the ASET scope and Idealscope images. What about the other diamonds which you were considering?

As I've made my deposit, i've just asked the sales associate whether I can check out a few others. hopefully they let me change the diamond. Not sure why this is classified under Super Ideal actually..

Still can change as long as you haven't confirmed it for setting

Yes i agree. :s13: My main concern is with the hearts and arrow scope where the diamond's edges are not smooth and round, but slightly octagonal looking. Not sure if there is any need for concern.

Those who got your rings from JP, did they send you photos of your actual ring when they informed you that your ring was ready for collection, or did you have to request for it.?

Got 1 question... Do u guys bring ur gf to jp to choose the ring? If so, do u purpose first then later choose ring or u just let her know u intend to propose and then see the ring together? Then once u get the ring, u do the real proposal?

:s13: :s13: Why wanna propose twice lol ??

See what stage you guys at la. Haha. If talking about marriage / apply housing should be more or less confirmed marrying each other already what :s13:

In Singapore a couple BTO is akin to a proposal already, sometimes no choice have to apply first in case your luck really cui keep cannot get. For me and my gf we apply a few times already and finally got a queue number. Since we are going overseas for holiday soon, wanted to give her a surprise proposal before the novelty wears off, so I brought her to JP to choose also since she's the one gonna be wearing it.
