You should always only buy from a merchant that provides ASET images if you're someone that cares about the actual quality of the diamond that you are purchasing. If they can place a 5.x HCA diamond under their ideal category, you can bet there won't be any superior quality diamond with them. Kinda obvious they are more of the profit driven company and not the ethical kind.

Selling based on pushing the false impression that HCA below 1.5 = Super Ideal and no need for any ASET.

KinoChoco, you seem to be very experienced on diamond ring! Are you in this trade or related to JP? I checked all your past postings and majority (90%) of your time/posts were all in this proposal ring thread (for years!).

Typical drop-shipping website advertising off from JannPaul. When you google JannPaul, they paid advertising to come up on top of them. I have to agree with KinoChoco on this.

I'm not in this trade but unfortunately I do like diamonds, I've bought plenty of diamonds for my ex girlfriends and of cuz my current partner. (Lucky for them)

Trust me, I wish I'm related to JP, I wouldn't mind investing couple hundred thousands in them if they don't mind another partner hahaha. I like their business approach in this trade.

If I'm not wrong 3k+ can only get you a 0.3 destinee. Destinee is a standard ideal cut, somewhere between JP's standard of ideal-superideal range, u will be able to get JP Super Ideal with a guarantee of Super Ideal quality at a cheaper price than destinee, but of cuz if your partner prefers a brand, it's probably better for you to get what she like 😂

Seems this thread is focused more diamond rings. Anyone selected or knows a thing or two about gem rings?

No worries, not questioning your integrity because I do love your involvements and sound advises to people here. Good job.

It's actually fun to educate people on diamonds haha (if they are not brand-focus)

I myself used to be brand focus back then as i didn't know much about diamond....every branded diamond looks bling to me. I've personally gotten Tiffany, Celestial, Brilliant Rose and was considering on Royal Destinee until someone told me about Jann Paul then i finally researched more into diamonds.

I was skeptical at first and did some searches for other similar concept stores too (e.g. bluenile, james allen, whiteflash, brian gavin), in the end i came to a conclusion that yes, JP price might not be the cheapest among all the online stores I've mentioned, but it is definitely the strictest super ideal criteria I've seen so paying 2-3% (based on my previous comparison) premium more to guarantee a higher quality diamond with local free resizing, polishing & upgrade plan seems to be the most rational choice to me.

As for other Singapore diamond stores with similar concept, TBH, i don't find any of them come close to JP in terms of quality nor pricing.

Some people might think it's impossible that how can they sell high quality diamond yet cheaper than the rest of the competitors and still profitable...they might want to look at it in business point of view....
1) Jann Paul is sharing the same shop front as House of Hung whom is in jewellery trade for decades
2) They are related (father and son) - not surprised if their rentals are waived or heavily subsidized :s13:
3) Tap into HOH's resources on vendors, diamond sources etc (Probably get a good pricing as compared to other less experienced jewelers)

Is it true that if you are buying a 1.1 carot diamond, u might as well buy a 1.05 - 1.0 carot as it doesn't make any difference unless you are going for 1.2 carot
