Collected my ring from Jannpaul :D

Workmanship is superb. I took some macro shots. It's quite tough to get the angle cause the Diamond is just very shiny too. You guys are right. It is quite big once it is set on a ring.

This is the diamond on my finger (excuse my hairy finger).Lol~ Its a Super ideal cut 0.61 carat F VS1. I was very worried with the size but now I'm not sure if its too big :s13:
I would like to commend JannPaul on their service, specially Casey, he was very calm and patient with me.. I changed my mind on the ring design until I also lost count. (I work before in a furniture shop so I can understand how annoying it is when customers keep changing their mind). So I can tell that they are really passionate in what they do.

My gf sister helped me chose a the white/rose gold combo. I think rose gold makes the ring stand out more. It still have that classic solitaire look and also looks expensive :). It also helps that she wears a rose gold watch.

I will strongly recommend Jannpaul. Their diamonds truly sparkles and their workmanship is fantastic. I dont think anyone else can come close to them.
Its just like house reno. There will be different quotations and its hard to judge the workmanship and final work. In the end, you get what you pay for. I found JP prices to be very reasonable to what they're offering.

Next up is the actual proposal. Anyone know where got nice scenary (like those in drama) to propose? I was thinking of doing the 'golden route' in Japan to see the Autumn leaves in Nov. Any suggestion?

Nice bro how much did you pay for your ring?

I went with my gf to a jewellery shop in Malaysia to find out her ring size and was told it was a size 13.

Any idea what would be the equivalent sizing in JP?

JP goes my inner ring circumference. I did my ring in size 49 which is 49mm circumference. You convert your size in circumferece then should be the same already.

The size is abit confusing to me too...I tried once in a msia jewelry shop, it was size 10 but a little loose for me, when I tried in JP, suitable size was asia size 8 or 9 (not very sure 8 or 9 lol) but pretty sure it's US Size 4.5. On e receipt JP put ring sz 48 tho.

If I'm not wrong, JP uses Hong Kong sizing cos their ring craftsmen are in Hong Kong. Other places may use US sizing, Europe sizing etc

There are conversion charts online which you can use as reference

Does fluorescence matter?

Fluorescence gives the diamond a blue tint or glow under UV light
Depends on the degree of Fluorescence the glow will be greater or lighter.
For a low colour diamond G or lower, fluorescence does help with making the diamond look "whiter" giving the yellow colour a slight contra thus giving the naked eye a higher colour than what it's supposed to be.

Overall if you are buying a D-F colour diamond stay away from those stones unless u plan to bargain down the value base on the fluorescence. Usually, its bargain buyer who chance on a low colour diamond with fluorescence with gives it a 'Value for money' buy since the low colour and fluorescence on paper will be a turn-off for many thus the low value.

Ever came across a 1.03 ct I VS2 with medium Fluorescence @ $4000+ including setting which side by side an E colour Diamond was similar to the naked eye.

Conclusion stay away from the Fluorescence if you are looking for your perfect diamond.

AGS Triple Ideal is very similar to Lee Hwa's Destinee Diamond which offers the similar specs.

Cut, Polish, Symmetry all rated Ideal. Priced $3600 SGD so for me that's a decent price as for a similar one at Lee Hwa Jewellery you might pay anything from $5000-$6500. Only thing is you will need to find a setting for your ring.

All in all a good buy.

Only thing is the website's authenticity, do keep us posted on your online diamond buying process.

any comment on this diamond bros? Hca is 1.4
can any bro help me see if the scope is good?

Scopes not bad, not a perfect super ideal but seems like it's very near super ideal to me (Good enough for naked eyes). However do note that wire transfer fees and GST when you import into SG, you will also need to consider that if one day you would like to upgrade, you need to pay a insured shipping back to them and it won't be cheap.

It's definitely a good price but after-sales wise might be abit more tricky as you wont get any 'free' resizing and repolishing as your merchant is in america. haha.

Generally whiteflash's a cut above range is super ideal or very close to super ideal standard.
But tbh, if you go JP and have a look at their prices, for me I found that JP was actually cheaper after you factor in the cost of setting.

IIRC, whiteflash's settings are about 1.5 to 2x the price of JP's

Diamond is decent. There is alot of dot dot inclusions all over the Hearts and front. I've seen the Ideal cuts from House of Hung (JP's dad shop?) to have better scopes though. If I'm not wrong, their Ideal Cut standard = WF's Super Ideal cut, whereas JP's Super Ideal Cut is better quality.
You can compare WF super ideal standard with House of Hung's ideal standard and compare the price. See which one is better. End up you might still get a better quality and cheaper price with them.

Hi all!
I've been reading this thread for a while and finally went for appointment last weekend.

I got a 0.54 F VVS2 super ideal. However I noticed the report listed needle, pinpoint, feather, cloud. Is that normal?
