Hope the rest of you guys are doing okay, my ring's ready for pick up on Friday likely.. JP told me 23rd but will push for Friday..

Really anxious about the final product, more so than my proposal.. since we're already set on the banquet, wedidng package, video/photo for actual day.. She won't say no

Next thing I'm looking at is the 4 dian jin.. gonna look at choo yilin for a few pieces of fine jade jewelry

Well, he did put an ad up on carousell as well and he doesn’t have such a bad rating
He is correct in the huge mark ups of diamond but granted he is genuine and he can get you $1k offand still make money still comes at a “cost”.
Even online retailers such as Whiteflash and Brian Gavin have lifetime upgrades, buy back and exchange policies but buying though CKY, you surrender all that benefits for that price. You also never know the cut quality. Only you can decide if the savings are worthwhile ...

to a common folk/ those who already got their JP diamonds, is there a noticeable difference between JP diamonds and other diamonds? esp at first glance?

my peers (who bought their diamonds from smaller shops/ "direct from trader"/ etc) keep insinuating that I paid too much.

i already paid the deposit and im happy with JP but hearing them say such things really rubs me the wrong way... would be great if the diamonds have a visible diff so they will drop it and i will feel better about my purchase too hahaha

At the end of the day, you are paying for the education, services and the idea that it’s the best of the best in terms of cut quality.
But for the lay person, if you dun have a side by side comparison, it’s hard to pick out the difference. You could ask JP to pick out 5 diamonds, 4 from HOH and 1 JP SIC and see if you can tell the difference

Of course even with JPs SIC, you could go down to a G and VS2 to save some money

JP diamonds has the Super ideals and other special cuts like the octagon and solasfera. I assume you got the Super ideal? Did you try to compare yours side by side next to your friends? I did with mine and can see the difference. But its not something that I would say out loud to my friends cos it might sound rude.. Though my friends do say that mine looked brighter and more sparkly even though it had a lower color grade.

I dont think ppl will diss their own diamonds after they've bought it either. haha.

JP has alot of video comparisons on their youtube too

We all know that diamonds are poor investments.
Try off loading a diamond and you know there’s hardly a second hand market as I’m sure most people also dun want a second hand diamond for their would be wife’s
Perhaps that’s the argument most people take when sourcing for a cheaper diamond when it’s difference is hard to see

Everyone has different budgets and mindsets when it comes to diamonds. As long as you can afford the diamond, who cares what your peers think

Actually some people just like to stir s**t la...

Like how some non-JP customers judge JP customers for buying at a premium price, my colleague, a JP customer, also judged me for not buying from JP. It's the person's problem, not yours.

I just rmb there was someone who got a ring upgrade at JP and they took a side by side picture of their initial ring vs the JP ring, the JP one was so much nicer.

At least 70% of this thread supported JP la.. If you don't feel good about buying from JP then don't..

I feel that you're asking us for an answer you wish to hear.. but truly, quality of JP diamonds vs others has been discussed to death in 3 parts of this thread.. information is so comprehensive here, it covers many other notable dealers and even price gauge for what you should paying at every dealier..

So if you are really concern about what you are paying for.. why not do your homework by going through the past 45 pages for a start? I'm sure you'd be more confident of your judgement after you absorbed all the collective knowledge

Well, if there is no difference, I think there would be alot of complaints by now already.. lol. If you scroll back, there are a number of bros that either upgraded or compared to other diamonds before. They all seemed to be able to see the diff and are happy with it.

Learnt a lot this past few months
Based on the findings from bros here, I know that JP diamonds are the best around and of good value!

Hoot a 0.71 carrot F VS2 super cut from them
This was my fiance ring the mom bought for her last time 0.51 carrot Ideal cutting also same price as my 0.71 carrot super ideal cut..

For that same price, I managed to get a bigger and much more sparkly diamond. When I compare them, the difference of 0.2ct is quite big. Maybe it's also because the 0.7ct one is a better cut.
Sparkle wise, the 0.7ct wins handsdown. Its much much more shiny.

I din expect the difference between super ideal and ideal to be so obvious. Then again, I dunno whether my MIL kenna ketuk.. she said she was only told it was the best cut (Ideal) and wasn't shown the scopes.. oh well.

Moral of the story - Spend more $$ doesn't mean the diamond is better. Learn and check if the diamond is a good cut yourself and check them with the scopes. If I didn't come across this forum and learn from you guys, I would probably just ended buying off buying blindly from those jewellery shops.

im sure it has been discussed in bits and pieces over the 3-part thread and hundreds of pages. i could go the long route and spend hours to read all of them or i can spend 2 min to write a question and those who are nice/ free to reply can reply me...

it's just like those people who ask how much a 0.x diamond in JP cost. they can scroll the 45 pages to "do their homework" or just ask a question and hope others help hahaha

i also bear in mind that a lot of you guys are experts in this, thats why keen to hear whether a lay person can spot the diff between non-JP and JP or not.

i mean no harm, just heart itchy and body lazy to scroll x pages

a couple of you already replied that there's a visible difference so thank you! makes me feel better already hahah
