Hello all,

- HP diamond has a 0.41 F VS for $2300 after gst, delivered, exclude ring
- Whiteflash ACA, 0.41 F and 0.44 G both VS2 for abt $1800 after Gst

Both providers are overseas sale, any resizing etc had to ship back or you trust a local jewelry to do at a fee. Not saying its not good but I would worry a lot eg.ring size, especially for 1st timer. If get diamond alone, also need workmanship fee and buy ring locally at average of 700 at 18k white gold. And is it really necessary to get a super ideal cuts? Its a visible difference if you stare it long enough.

Its very hard to compare like this. Various jewellers will have their own standard of what is a Super Ideal or Ideal too. Whiteflash SIC is not the same as HP diamond SIC.

Whether you can tell the difference, I guess its each to their own. I definitely could. For me, I rather go sacrifice on a lower color or clarity to get a better cut.

You can compare them in the videos too. These are from JP. They do show them in different lights and when its outdoors too versus those tricky jewelry shop lights.

To be honest, all the ‘super ideal cut’ from oversea dealers like WF, BN, it’s actually only around JP’s Ideal standard, hence might as well just buy ideal from JP for even cheaper price.

I’ll think that ideal cut is sufficient for most of us (JP’s standard), unless you’re more perfectionist like me and some of us here whom like to get best of the best and don’t mind paying more, then JP’s Super ideal will be the best rounds among others.

That’s a video of a SIC vs Ideal cut.
But have u ever compared a white flash aca vs JP vs Brian Gavin n Crafted by infinity ( all super ideal cuts)
I’ve currently got a JP SIC, Brian Gavin signature, BG black and CBI
The only one I dun have is the WF ACA.
Frankly, I can’t tell them apart

JP is only a jeweller. They dun cut the diamonds. These are often bought from cutting houses. How would you know the cutter that sells to JP did not sell to Whiteflash or other retailers?
After all the product a cutter sells is the same. A well cut diamond

Yes they do sell to others, but other jeweller aren’t as strict, hence there’s plenty of slightly less perfect diamond that falls into other dealer hand selling as Super ideal as the criteria they gives the cutter aren’t as strict.

But to be honest, a Perfect Super ideal and and slightly lousier Super ideal looks around the same in rl life, it’s just a matter of how anal you are when you’re choosing your diamond 😂

Which brings me back to my first point.
Diamonds are nature’s creation and I love inclusions. It’s like a birthmark which I can see with a 10x loupe.
There are many well cut, eye clean, super ideal SI1 diamonds which are often priced lower. And frankly I dun think anyone’s gonna take a manifying glass and look at your diamond...

Thus it would have been great if JP started including these to help others who may be after a Super ideal cut but have a lower budget

What is perfect? There is no perfect.

Within the realm of super ideals there can be your preferences.
Take this example/video of just the lower half facet of the diamond
My original JP SIC had a lower half of 75%
But I preferred more scintillation and fire in a diamond, thus I went with one with a larger or longer lower half ... nearer the 80%

Sharing my ring design here :) Very pleased with that JP came up for me. They asked one of their new designers that joined their team to help design our ring. When I approached them, me and my gf shared our life story and what we would like to be included in our design. Basically, we both like star gazing and into astrology and stuff. We wanted something different from the tradition ring designs and they proposed to sketch out a rough design first before making the 3D to get a feel of it.

Anyway, this is what they came up with

52dOJM7.jpg

- Main diamond is a 0.4ct Octagon diamond. Reason why we chose the Octagon is that it's meant to represent the palaris star (northern star), which is the brightest star.
- How they explained was that the surrounding diamonds is a galaxy of all the other stars. Also, the small stones are our birthstones too. Diamond (April) for me and pink sapphire (September) for her.
- The way they arranged the small diamonds and pink sapphires, is actually the morse code for ''love''.

So yeah... this was their proposal sketch for us and we're already liking it very much.. haha. Anyway, just wanted to share this. They did say that they're still trying out their new sketch designer. Her name is Ming. If you guys want them to come up with something more special and meaningful, you can look for her.

Nice ring! I would be abit scared to choose that design myself. Since your gf is involved and she approves, you’re safe! Haha. Very meaningful too!

im not inclined to think that hoh ideals offer similar quality or better value vs sic of other dealers considering that many quality diamonds do fall into the hands of these dealers who operate on a bigger scale.

You'll be surprised. Just look at the scopes and you will know. In fact, I found that some of the HOH Ideals are even better quality that the ''SIC'' by other brands.

Telling difference is 1 thing, necessity is 1 thing. But as long as both of you love the choice you made, that's all it matters! Be it 3EX or SIC, be it 1ct or 0.3ct/D or G. Some ladies prefer less costly rings/wedding etc so can spur on house and honeymoon. Some are opposite.

Happy jiu hao. Dont end up in loan or stress over money that's the key. Wedding is just a start of a marriage.. (approx 30-50k)

Anyone can share the estimated price of JannPaul’s wedding bands? Bought from them the engagement ring previously.

Yup! Totally agree. Set a budget and stick with it. Taking a loan is the worst thing you can do. Haven't even get married and already in debt.

Congrats.
That’s abit too left field for me but love the story behind it.

Thanks! We gave them a few designs that we like and they came up with it. Its very different from the typical rings. We're waiting for them to come up the 3D render of it then to try the wax :D

Male: plain matte
Female: full diamond
$1900

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 4 using GAGT

Just to add on: price varies depending on the diamonds added on the ring, e.g. for female eternity ring...a full row of o.o3 diamonds vs 0.04 diamonds, the prices does increase by hundreds. (not many guys nor girls know about this).

I believe the standard ones are only 0.01-0.02, i personally prefer 0.03-0.04....looks bigger and more bling.
