Hi bro Miltah,

I went to JP over the last weekend and placed my deposit for a 0.58c G VS2 diamond (ideal cut)

The GIA no. is 6271330099. The price is 3.85k. Is the price for this diamond okay? Based on the price list shared, it seems similar spec diamond is around 3.3-3.5k? Am I overpaying? :\

These are only meant as a price guide, as u can see your quoted stone seems abit more expensive. So has overall prices gone up? Perhaps inflation?
I dun know but I do know that overall diamond prices have come down due to overproduction n DeBeers is actually cutting back

0.56 G VVS2 $3,300 (ideal)
0.58 E VS2 $3,500 (ideal)
0.58 G VS2 $3850 ideal
0.51 G VVS2 - $3,500
0.54 F VS1 - $3,850
0.53 E VS1 - $3,900
0.52 D VS2 - $3,850
0.52 D VVS2 - $4450
0.63 F VS1 - $4600 ideal
0.63 F VS2, $5100
0.71 G VVS2 $5200 (ideal)

Sharing some photos of my ring. Its a 0.63 E VS1 super ideal cut. JP managed to speed up my ring crafting to 3 weeks. Very happy with the outcome and setting design I chose.
The design really brings out the diamond and makes it look bigger. The tapered band does help alot with the 6 prongs crown head. They made the crown head alittle more V shape to bring out the main diamond. All these small little ''tricks'' does help with the size. My gf even thought it was a 1ct at first. hahaha

The diamond itself is super sparking without a doubt. Now I know why you guys are all into the super ideal cut. You really got to just see it yourself to understand.

Only thing is the ring size. Will be going back to JP to resize the ring. Its abit too loose and the diamond keeps rotating around the finger. I used the string and measure method to check her ring size. Don't think its very accurate. lol

Congratulation!! It looks stunning on her hand. Was yours a custom ring? I was told that it takes 4-6 weeks for them to craft and total 8 weeks to customize. May I know whats your gf's ring size?

Thanks. The ring was one of their existing designs. Dont think I had the enough time to do the custom route.
My gf is a size 10. The ring I ordered is a size 12. Its back with JP now to resize.. Now have to patiently wait. She said so fast need to take the ring away from her already :s13:

JP Diamond

Been reading this forum and decided to visit JP for their diamond 'education' session. Narrowed down to two 0.55c SIC.
Judging from the recent posts, this seems like a fair quote.

0.55 F VVS2
$4,300 (Inclusive of GST)

0.55 E VS1
$4,000 (Inclusive of GST)

Had some minor incidents, but long story short i am waiting for them to email the scope images and will post it here to seek your highly appreciated opinions.

All JP SICs' scopes will look similar. Put the 2 stones next to each other, view them under normal fluorescent light and natural sunlight. If u cannot see the diff, but the cheaper one.

VS1 and VVS2, both are eye clean. E and F on its own, cannot tell the difference. SO I will take the $4k E VS1.

U selected 4.
What is your criteria or rationale in picking those 4?

Wah well asked. Chance is small I guess? But yes there is room for improvement on paper wrg clarity. I was wondering if the scope images is as good as it gets. This is the part that needs knowledge.

Scope is as good as it gets

But frankly clarity is the last improvement u want on paper for something u can’t see.
Of cos, there’s always gonna be Pple who are willing to pay for internally flawless

Hi all, has been reading for the past few days, im proposing soon in Nov.
Hence, needed some help for all the masters here to look for a suitable stone in BG. There's too many stones in there.... and im not sure which 1 to choose...

Budget for stone is around $3k ish max
With setting max maybe $4k ish? (she hinted that she dont mind a gold setting or setting with small diamonds on the sides)
Size wise, she will like it to be around 0.6 and above (best if i can get a 0.616ct cuz this number meant something to us)
Colour and clarity wise, im not so sure. if im going for the gold setting so colour shouldnt matter so much right?

Greatly appreciate if any master could help me thru in this process of life. Thank you very much in advance!!

Dear Miltah Bro,

To simplify, im wish to find the best value stone for me little budget. the 0.616 is just a bonus factor. TIA for your help! Really appreciate your inputs or if you have other recommendations.

Oh I forgot it’s u :s13:
I would go for the 0.675 I VS1
It’s the biggest, cleanest VS1 and also the cheapest. Plus the I color will go well with either white but perhaps better with yellow gold

If u decide to use a WG setting with small diamonds then u should try to pick a higher color main stone

U should aim for F or G. Reason being u dun want the side stones to highlight the slight tint in lower color mains especially if one is color sensitive.
But I think BG blacks are abit over-rated

cuz there's only 1 G here
