Yes JP got this size lab grown for white series: round or decagon etc . Will be less than $3k last i checked
Thanks! Seems reasonable.
Looking forward to swap her existing diamond to a Decagon 0.5 or 0.6 lab grown diamond soon lol.
(Although she complaining 0.6 abit too big for her taste).

Hi all, would appreciate some help if able pls. For JP white series, would you choose the decagon or round 10 H&A series and why? Also, do you think I should go with dual colour (rose gold and white gold) or just white gold for the setting? Im not sure if rose gold will make the diamond less bling. Im thinking of having a setting with 2 meelee diamond at the sides.

Decagon, for 10 more facets compared to the round cut :p

Whichever color you want your band to be in, imo, the prong should be white gold to prevent any color from seeping into the diamond.

Ahhh. Then I shall go ahead with the decagon.

Noted on the prong colour. Thank you very much. :)

Technically speaking, I rem then saying that the Decagon will have the best light performance amongst their white series range. For the white series, the prong color shouldn't matter since the diamond has a full light return. The prong color will only be an issue for those average - poorly cut ones with light leakages because of the see through effect.

Guys, for cheaper (but slightly lower quality) natural diamond, what is your recommended shop? I heard JP's diamond are mostly 4.5k+ for 0.5 carat, and they didn't really sell lower quality. I know there are reputable online shop like Bluenile and JamesAllen, which I can get 0.7 carat for around the same price (but ofc slightly lower quality), but wanted to know if there is similar reputable offline shop.

Slight background story, my gf is not really diamond-savy and she won't like it if she find out that I spent a lot for the ring. I don't want to give lab grown diamond, and 0.5 carat seems too small for me (I think sweet spot is around 0.7 carat). For other minor details (especially those cannot be seen in naked eye) I actually don't mind that much..

But u cannot ‘see’ with your naked eye if it’s lab grown so why not?
Of cos, some pple can accept eyeclean but cannot be mind clean.
so if it’s a natural stone, cut well and eye clean, can u accept a SI clarity?

For a $4k budget your best well cut option is for a lab grown which will get u 1caret

Online shops like James Allen and Bluenile won’t get u a cut close to JPs. The only dealers which offer better cuts are Brian Gavin and whiteflash

From online store, I can find 0.7ct/VS1/F/Ideal cut in 4k range. I just wonder if there is reputable offline shop in SG which also sell similar specs. I prefer JP but unfortunately they didn't really sell the "lower end" as far as I know.

I feel if you’re going for the lower end cut because of budget, you’re better off with lab grown. For same budget, you can get a better cut lab grown, which will visually look much better than a lower cut natural.
The “Ideal cut” is really any anyhow term online. And if she’s not diamond savvy, even more so that she will just see how it looks like. Girls will compare one.

For those who bought their wedding bands at JP as well, how was the selection process like?
