Prudential vs NTUC Income

I am thinking of getting a shield plan for myself. Shortlisted between prudential and NTUC income.

NTUC income agent says, Prudential shield is not auto renewed after every year. ie prudential will recheck after every year whether they should renew my shield plan. and said for NTUC income, it is auto renewal and they never do any recheck. Is this correct?

What recheck? No insurers do recheck for shield plans yearly. What the hell is that Income agent talking about?

haha...i have to give it to the income agent's creative selling. instead if saying the common income rider is cheaper but covers 90% only,he came up with this...

Prudential shield plan is guaranteed renewable.

And if your credit card or giro is valid, it will auto charge to your account.

That NTUC's agent statement is nonsense.

Auto renewal is a MUST in medical policy involving the payment of premium using CPF money.

My is incomeshield with full rider. Main policy is paid using CPF money but rider paid by cash.

I think the greatest difference of Any insurance shield plan v Incomeshield is the need of placing deposit before hospitalization or surgery.

Most hospitals have direct access to Ntuc Income data base which
enable Ntuc Income to provide a letter of guarantee to the hospital thereby save the policy holder the need of placing deposits.

I am not Ntuc agent but their policy holder. I am speaking these from my personal experience when my mother was hospitalized and also when she underwent day surgery.

It is very clear that shield plans are guaranteed renewable. If u do decide to get from ntuc, I suggest u get from another agent as this one either dunno his stuff or trying to smoke u in a dumb way.

thank you all for the replies. I decided to take prudential.

The agent who introed prudential to me is a Malaysian PR. I am not sure if she leaves singapore later, How I can get any help to fill in the forms if required?

Is this necessary or is it possible to make the claims oneself?

Yes, you just fill in the forms and if you need help, you can always call their customer sevice line for advice. The agent only helps you to collect and submit the form, which you can do yourself also. Just be aware many Prudential agents are come and go type.

agreed. Whether he is new or he never update his knowledge, he should not jump into conclusion on something he's not sure. Not a good hand to pass your planning to.
