Firstly, the name buttercup does not means butter.

Buttercup is basically palm oil and if you look at the price. One would have guess it’s off.

Typically the cheapest real butter starts from 3++ per block of ~200gram at Poon Huat.

Supermarket sells for ard 4ish

Can share in easy English what’s transfat and why it’s bad?

Why was it marketed as good in the past ?

Is hydrogenated oil. Not transfat. My bad. Wiki the hydrogenated oil. This margerine is made up of palm oil. In fact most food products from boleh land has the most palm oils contain. Like condensed creamer, chocolate. Always read the ingredients if the food is from boleh land. Margerine is poor man butter. Which is more 100 years old stuff started in French iirc.
