500W-550W is sufficient.

But it also depends on your rig other components too.

And whether u overclock or not.

The components in my current rig is

Asrock H77-PRO4 MVP
i5-3570 CPU
Corsair Vengeance 8 GB
Plextor M5 PRO 128GB SSD
Toshiba 1TB HDD
FSP 550W AURUM 92+ PLATINUM PSU

So will it be ok to power the ZOTAC GTX970 GPU?
