Psu noise level

HI guys, looking to purchase a quiet psu so asking here if anyone is using superflower leadtek 650w gold? This is quite cheap @ 144 but is it quiet?

Or should i go for evga g2 650w gold? More expensive but it has an eco mode so it will be less noisy,correct?

If on fanless mode, psu may run hot until the fan is on.

May hurt the components life span since heat degrades all electrical devices.

If you really want dead silent, there is seasonic P series fanless model. But of cause its pricey.

That psu no fan at all.

the seasonic fanless cannot function with zero airflow .... it still need positive airflow from the case fans

it's written in the product description or something .... I remember it being explicitly mentioned .... and cannot mount the mesh side downwards

yup ..... eco mode is bad ... especially in our ambient temperature 30+ d celcius that is 10 more than those review sites located in northern latitude

they used a thermal camera to peek into platinum rated power supply on eco mode and found some internal components being in the 80-105 d celcius range ..... not healthy

the baseline 800 rpm on the fan (eco mode disabled) is silent and keeps the components cool

No, ecomode fan is triggered by temperature , not load. Around 40° it will turn on which is almost always if you play games. But when youre browsing the web or watching videos, it wont be on unless it 40°.

So it is definitely safe to use

That doesnt say anything about what my recommendations are mah. No?

I was just merely telling him about the best quiet psu. Which is yes a fanless module. Whether it needs case airflow or not, that is secondary. No?

yes can claim ...


but many ppl in this forum buy the evga psu cheaper from amazon so I make sure to debunk that eco mode
buy from usa no warranty coverage so if flicking a switch to disable , 1 step only so simple can potentially improve longevity I would reccomend it


it's not universal for all capacitors ... but I've seen this phrased mentioned in power supply reviews that dissect the psu .... "every 10 degree celcius rise would cut longevity in half"
