Hi guys , my friend recently passed me a PSU which he brought back from China his workplace . However , when I on my PC using the PSU , it ran for 1 sec then stop . There was also smoke emitted.

Does that means China PSU cannot work on Singapore due to voltage ? Or the PSU is a defect one ? Need some kind advice here .

Thanks very much .

China PSU same voltage as Sg. The PSU is defective. I assumed there is no voltage selection at the back of the PSU.

PSU must be quite old. Alot of air pollution trap inside. When fan spin blow out all the smog :s13:

I see. Thanks bro for your advice . There what I thought too . Suppose to be able to plug and play . No need for selection or change voltage . No selector anyway . I conclude it's PSU faulty then . Thanks guys

Yeah. I already bought a PSU and had my system running since Jan . Just checking here before I throw the PSU away . It's a evga 750w PSU . Thought unlikely to fail since it's new and not used.

Thanks guys for your advice
