PSU warm with PC shut down overnight

As above. My PC was shut down the whole night before I went to bed, but the PSU still feels warm in the morning. I left the main switch and PSU switch on.

Is this normal?

PSU 5v rail is still on even in standby mode. This is how keyboard/mouse able boot PC.

Why not switch off the mains to save electricity?
By leaving mains on all the time, input circuitry bound to degrade fast.

Checked the BIOS. But the Keyboard PowerOn and Mouse PowerOn setting are both set to Disabled (default).

Experimented a bit.

In this case, even if in the BIOS setting the Keyboard and Mouse power-on setting are disabled and when the PC is shut down, somehow the PSU is still constantly consuming electricity and giving off a little heat, unless it's switch is flipped to off it completely.

Yes modern pc allow usb devices to be charged even when pc is shutdown. I'm sure you noticed that right?

To fully off, switch off mains and unplug the cable

However the 5Vsb still shouldn't generate that much heat for the PSU to stay warm, considering the large surface area to dissipate just a little heat.. TS should consider changing his PSU, get a decent budget one.
