PUBG - m-itx - 1060 build

Hi guys,

I've been out of the PC gaming scene for a pretty long time and thinking of getting back into it just for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. After reading up a little, like URL HERE.

I'm looking to build something with a 1060 (3 or 6gb?) for a mid range gaming PC within a m-itx build.

Considerations:

1. m-itx build, minimalist as possible.
2. Love Fractal Design casings, but open to others like Corsair or Silverstone.
3. Accessories not required, OS requried.
4. Knows nuts about oc-ing, so won't be doing any OC.
5. Cooling, air cooled sufficient?
6. Budget, I'm trying to keep it as low as possible but not to "waste" the 1060.

Budget, hoping to keep it around the 1000 mark.

Wifi required.

Fractal Design Node 304
Corsair Obsidian Series 250D
SilverStone CS280

Monitor, I'm currently using a Dell U2414H but planing to upgrade to a 144p with a max refresh rate of 60. Actually will need some recommendations on monitor too. Screen size, 24-27".

Node304 is kinda long. Can house a full ATX PSU but need to be wary of PSU size, especially if using a full length gfx card.

I made that mistake. Thankfully, still Can fit in Zotac mini series.

I've been playing PUBG on steam for over 3 weeks now. I dont have issue with GTX 1060 6gb, 8gb RAM and i5 7500 + no lag. My video settings is not optimized and set to default

But I suggest you may want to consider using Cable instead of WIFI and you may also want to install it on SSD.

Ah ok, yea, I definitely want to get those mini GFX cards. They just look so cute. But I heard that are shortages for people doing mining. (Don't people do that with gold or diamonds )

That's good to know, I can't use a cable unless I drill a hole through the wall and I don't think my wife will agree.

I'm in same boat also using WIFI to play games but I've make sure the set-up is near in router as possible and luckily its already using 5.0ghz too. *been moving my whole setup making sure my wifi signal is at fullest* hehehe.

Just different variants of motherboards with slightly differing features.

B is for business boards, H is usually more of a general use board and Z is geared towards getting more performance through overclocking (also comes at a slight premium).

The differing features should not matter to you if you are just gaming etc unless you're looking to overclock. Hence the cheapest H or B board will do

Just get MSI H110i Pro AC with Pentium G4560. Very good value board, quality build, have wifi too. Processor is 2 cores 4 threads. Cheap and perform pretty well. If bottleneck, next time then upgrade when the cpu when budget allow. Now one shot, a bit hard.

For gtx 1060, suggest getting Asus Turbo from PCT for $325. One of the cheaper model liao. Plus Blower style cooler better suit for limited space in itx cases.

Then ram can get Kingston/Crucial/Gskill Valueram ddr4 2133mhz 8gb stick will do. Next time add another 8gb stick.

The rest you balance your budget. Either 128gb ssd + 1tb hdd. Or 1tb sshd.

Case like Thermaltake Core V1, cheap and good. Add 2x 80mm fans to improve airflow if you needed it. This case can fit atx psu, which is cheaper than sfx psu.

PSU can get EVGA bronze 500W for $89.

Yes, i see the Thermaltake Core V1 being highly recommended. Still thinking of getting the 'cube' form factor or the 'VCR' form factor like the FD Node 202. Will check out reviews of the Core V1.

Asus Turbo is full size card. The card length is 266.7mm while the Core V1 clearance is 285mm. So it will fit nicely. Mini card don't make any difference. Provided have stock first.

FD node 202 is an excellent case. But require more expensive SFX psu. Your budget have limit, that's why I suggest the core V1. Very easy to build in. Much easier than node 202 lol

Go ahead. But Gigabyte AB350N Gaming WIFI is expensive though lol

It's pretty future proof. 8 cores mainstream cpu lmao. But pair with some good and fast ram for better multi core performance.

It's the cheaper one. Biostar got also but Gigabyte easier to get and I believe most should be familiar with CDL for rma. There are very limited itx board for amd coz mobo manufacturers worry AMD flop their product like previously, so they are extra cautious and don't produce that much SKUs of mobo for AMD compared to Intel. Asrock should have itx board incoming iirc. But have yet to see it.
