almost everything can be done at qantas.com why need to go to their office?

Depending on what your question is. Different airports have different rules and regulations as well as different flight routes and different fares will have different answers too. The call center answer will probably be the best bet as it's 'live' (knowing the situtation) vs the website which is based more general situations.
