Queries on KVM switch

I am looking at KVM switch from green. However I see the input is usb. Just want to ask my desktop gpu only has dp and hdmi does that mean I need to find a KVM switch with HDMI instead?

What are you trying to switch between?

If you do not need the display to change, then there is no need for display ports.

Switch between work laptop and home desktop. Want them to share monitor keyboard and mouse

Or, you can simply install a remote access software like VNC and be able to access both systems from a single monitor, keyboard and mouse.
