Question about ACRA Late Lodgement Fee

Hi guys, I am wondering if this late lodgement fee can be waived?

Long story short, being young, I went to register a business. But it went dormant shortly after that. That happened many years ago. Today, I suddenly received an email saying that I did not update the business address.

But that was like so many years ago. I tried to quickly resolve this but to my horror, I'm thrown a charge of $350 for late lodgement fee.

Any advice from anyone here?

yeah, the penalty fee. what are the chances of having it refunded because I am a newbie in this thing?

It's such a waste to be paying $350. I mean, if I am really running a business with profits, I'll pay my dues.

But now I have to pay for a 'business' that is dormant for so many years.

And they only inform me after 7 years.

I won't know the chances bro, normally this depends under the enforcement officer, cause is subject to their approval case by case scenario, but very hard la to be honest.

You should have close the business down mah if you not using, cause CA requires you to update ACRA within 14 days of any changes by default.

Why don't you try to appeal then you will get a definite answer?

You're right. But I wasn't experience enough. I wanted to close it way back. Can't remember if I did the steps correctly as well too. Oh well.

If you already lodged the change of address and paid the fine, I guess it's futile to appeal. If have not done so, log in and lodge for cessation of business (no lodgement fee) and see what happen next.

All these years you have not renewed your business registration?
