This might be a silly question but just bear with me :giggle:

If I have a phone with dual sim slots using SingTel on one and M1 on the other. Does that mean if I'm in an area without SingTel coverage, M1 will auto kick in. No settings are required?

That is if you switch on both SIM.

If you switch off the m1, no matter what it's not gonna activate de

Yes, that is how dual sim works, of course with the point that bth cards is toggled on.
There should be a setting to use both SIM's data interchangeably.

First u have to turn on both cards in the settings. Then u need to select the sim card that your phone will use first, for example in your case the Singtel sim card.

Then when the area does not have Singtel network only then will the phone use the other M1 network.

U can configure in the settings which line to use to call.

Also, some phones are smart enough that they will use the same line that received a call, to call back, despite the earlier setting.

For Android Phones, typically switching to and fro is auto. But for iPhone, you need to turn on "Allow Mobile Data Switching" under Mobile service and data settings.

There are some phones like xiaomi which will prompt you which sim card to use when calling or sending sms, as long as both sim cards are turned on. For data you will need to choose default sim for data usage before hand.
