Question about Exercise Support Group for Reservist

Was a signaller during my NSF days and got posted to this ESG unit at Stagmont camp after ORD. By chance does anyone know what this unit do? And what I can expect for future LK/HK call ups

also my SAF100 told me to just bring my relevant personal belongings for the first day. Does personal belongings just mean my essentials for the day? Or do I have to bring things for the possibility of stay in?

Judging by your description, you could be based in Stagmont Camp but could be attached to other units as and when needed to provide signal support. It can be relaxing (e.g follow HQ vehicle or in command centre) or could be in combat role (combat signaller).

Best is check with the unit what you need to bring. Even in same unit, requirements differ according to training program.

Anyways for checking with the unit, I know some units do create a WhatsApp chat of some sorts to brief people before they start their reservist. However mine hasn't created anything yet so if I were to contact anyone how would I go about doing it?

Haha yeaa hopefully it’s really nothing much. Have tried searching for more info about this unit but only can find 1-2 old threads about it

in the possibility of stay in, they will allow you to book out on the first day to bring the required items in right?

uh unlikely la, if stay in they will make sure you are informed de. this is SAF.

Don't worry. Almost all ICTs start with refreshers on the first few days for your vocation and weapons.

Stagmont is very relaxed one, stay in also not bad, at least still within civilization
