Question about generic Laser printer toner refills

depends on your needs.
i am satisfied with my black/white laser printer from Brother MFC-L2740DW.
Cost $300+ with wifi, duplex, flatbed scanner and auto-feeder.
Bought it at IT show in 2017, still strong.

OEM toners there are reputable sellers on Lazada/Shopee for $20+ only, works perfectly fine like original.
They basically drill holes, pour powder and replace circuit board to refresh "page counter".
Toners don't dry up like inkjets. Able to last many many prints.

IMHO.
I actually killed the printhead once by not using it during warranty and it was changed.
Other that instance, nope, never wear out.

Hmm... if the ink pad is full, I go change it, and see how long it last.

For print heads... Even clog... Can unclog one....

Use some clean damped cloth with distilled water...Hold it on the print head for a night... Probably will get it unclogged

Guys, if your laser printouts has black vertical lines or dirty dots, is it due to the drum being dirty or the whole drum has reached end of life? Will using covid hand sanitiser solve get rid of the dots or vertical lines?

I think your printers cannot last becos you used those cheap refills. at least that was my experience. 3rd party inks cause e print heads to get clogged.

My Epson L350 was released in 2013. I think I had it for at least 8 or 9 years.
The printer has individual ink tank, no need to change all colors.
The printhead can be cleaned if clogged.
I use original Epson ink refill.

if just one colour reaches critical level, they won't let you print even if you print only black.

I have a L550 left neglected for 9 months. The auto cleaning does not work at all. It prints blank pages. Epson L series uses embedded print head that makes the print head unreachable for cleaning. Call centre says need to send for servicing. Not worth it.

There is a youtube video that I followed step by step to dismantle to reach the print head and clean. By the time I finish cleaning, it ask me to fill up my black ink, and I got so sick of inkjets that I just gave up and don't bother to buy another bottle to refill. What if it still could not work?

Get a budget AIO ink tank printer like the canon G4010. Should solve your worries. Laser printer are for business.

ink tank printers will also clog. For those print heads attached to ink cartridges, we still can soak in hot water or hand sanitser to unclog it and the printer can still use/. Ink tank printers are the worst. The print head is deep deep inside and unreachable. Once clogged, the whole printer should be condemned.

I every 1 or 2 weeks, press the "copy" button to print one page colour.

I do printing test once a week to prevent clog. I never encounter print head clog on my canon G2010 AIO beside
missing color printout. I just need to run the maintenance program to clean or flush it. Removing of print head is easy too.
I guess it depend how well design/built of the make/model of the AIO printer.

Anyone using laser printer that require original toner to work? Apparently my Pantum AIO have chip in their toner kit to prevent using of refill or non-original cartridge!
