hi all just back from my trip to malacca.
thanks bros here for the recommendations.

stayed at Equatorial hotel. overall quite nice just need to pay for wifi only.
will consider staying nearer to jonker street cos of the shorter walking distance.

although only 2d/1n trip, I tried the chicken rice balls, durian chendol, portuguese seafood and dim sum for breakfast. will go again to try out other food in the near future. visited the shopping malls too and watch one movie for 7 ringgit...lol.

the portuguese seafood quite normal, nothing too fantastic.

what other food u guys suggest i should try too?

just notice that there isnt much nightlife at malacca? just saw afew ktv along the street.

for nightlife, i will recommend u to this club MiXX located inside mahkota parade. I frequent sg's zouk, but this club beats it hands down.

There are 10 stores. which one you go?

Only Store 1 is good. Can order satay etc. The rest need to woo you to eat.

oh i went to store 10 based on the recommendation from the taxi driver.
will try store 1 next time.

mmm... bro u always travel up? i just came back from penang trip this wkend. SG -> PG stayed 2 nights den PG - Malacca stay 1 night and back to SG.

Travel time SG to penang around 6hrs plus driving ard 140km.
Malacca up to Penang should be ard 4hrs plus to 5hrs. If u wana chiong 180km den need to becareful.

Quite rush imo. alot of time spend on road, den chk in, chk out etc. might be better to do 2 places instead of 3.

Hatten hotel is horrible.

Decor, services all I prefer equatorial.

Decor wise, hatten more like hospital, some rooms were even facing each other.. hardly and service to speak about. Marketplace in the lobby with hoards of property agent pestering you to buy their condo.. Inside the hotel mind you.

Check in check out not separated, took 1.5 hours to check in and another 1 hour to check out. Many guest complaining too.

Booked 2 room, 1 room was fine, the other room had problem with safe, drainage problems. This is not acceptable in a new hotel.

Breakfast was horrible too. Spread was average but all cheap food and look horrible. Ate a little only..

It's about S$100 per night. I would rather stay at equatorial or holiday inn club room at 130/night.

I went the Hatten rooms in their website quite nice but no bathtub.

If there is no price different, i think i will also stay in Equatorial, at least it has bathtub.

Could it be teething problem? I was still regretting not booking Hatten cos last weekend i stayed at The Explorer Hotel instead. The rooms at Explorer was just too tiny for comfort althought everything was new. The good thing was, parking and check in/out was a breeze.
But becos the room was so small, I was tell myself to try Hatten next trip.
