Only Singaporean like us visit them.
I've only visited the Bukit Indah branch once and only because a friend was a rootbeer fan. Have since not had any reason to go again.

stayed at eco tree hotel previously. simple and location is pretty good.
Have passed it while exploring the area and yes, the location is good too. :)

Chilled cold root beer is very nice but the ice-cream waffle is nothing great. Indah branch always not crowded at all.

Is melaka a smoke free city now ? I realized almost all the hotels rooms are non-smoking rooms now

ok decided on Quayside hotel for first 2 nights, they don't have booking available for 1st -2nd Jan. Maybe I'll go for Hatten on the last night

I've walked past RC Hotel a few times and thought it's a nice place for a couple of nights. Someone here has stayed there a couple of times and recommends it too. No fridge? Strange then...

Have you considered Casa del Rio? There's definitely a fridge in the room coz I love to buy boxes of cut guava from the pasar malam to store in the fridge for weekday snacking. Pretty decent-sized bedroom and bathroom too.

RC hotel is good for jonker walk and nearby food. If there is no elderly or kids, i suggest that you can try Hatten or Estadia. Can walk to jonker walk, next to shopping, near good food like tong sheng, tim ho wan, caffe bene, Starbucks and alot more. And if you buy coach ticket that board from hotel back to SG, Hatten and Estadia have coach bus bay that you can board from there to return to SG.

Depend on what you want to do there? shopping/eating/jonker walk? If going malacca is to go jonker walk, can stay around there. If shopping and eating, can try hotel like Hatten or Estadia. Driving or taking coach bus?

RC seems pricey (agoda) ~S$75?

how about quayside? any one stayed there? easy to get coach bus to/from JB?

Location-wise, Quayside is better as it's just next to the famous Dutch Square. Not sure if you can catch a bus from JB to Melaka's Dutch Square area, but there's a bus that goes through the area from Melaka Sentral.

Between RC and Quayside, former is like a boutique hotel to me, while the latter like a chalet stay. The rooms of Quayside are actually containers put together? I've read about noise-issue in Quayside, but if you're fine with that, I believe sitting in the balcony facing the river can be quite a nice experience.

I think the balcony-view of Quayside may be more happening than RC's, due to the higher human traffic.

Stay near Mahkota Parade. Or the quieter area around The Shore @ Malacca River. Mahkota Parade is near the historical areas, but traffic is bad round-the-clock in this vicinity.

1. Holiday Inn, Very good BF, very clean & quiet enironment, private lift access, seaview avail, ample private parking w security patrol, easy to drive around.

2. Kings Green Hotel. Decent BF, very clean too, ample private parking w security patrol, easy to drive around.

3. Ramada Plaza Hotel. Good BF, good buffet dinner, sea/river view avail, clean & comfort room, private secured parking (RM5), near many Chinatown shops & walkable to jonker walk.

My choice the last 4 years - Casa del Rio Hotel. Basement carpark plus more spaces across the street in front.

Mid-way between The Shore and Mahkota, merely 5 mins from Jonker. :)

I like the location of Hattens as it's linked to the nearby malls.

Have plans to try it one day. :)

Hi Bro,
I tried Grab there. Drivers are incredibly friendly and they get off the car and help with my luggage. I'm impressed.
Definitely a must if you move about in Melaka. Very affordable and good experience for me.

Hope this helps.
