recently had a surgery at NUH... come back bill 24k. gov subsidy 15k then payable amount left 9k.

from that 9k, 8k was paid with this medical claims proration system. the rest is paid by my medishield...

my question would be, what is this medical claims proration system ah? why they deduct from my medishield and not medisave ah?

I think mediahield is your insurance, so they will deduct it there first then if there are balance then mediasave.

Woah, first time seeing MBBSclinic in this forum. hahas

Since TS did not fork a single cent using medishield, and that MCPS was kicked in, I don't see a point what is his post about.

Medishield is just an insurance plan offered by CPF, which I have little idea on what it covers. But whether MCPS was kicked in or not, medisave can still be claimed after receiving the bill.
