asking for a “friend”
basically this person has 1 daytime office job and 1 night security job to make ends meet. Nothing too serious. Full time day job with 3-4 days (mostly covers Fri-Sun so minimal disruption to the work week) per week as a security guard at night. Both pays CPF and he pays taxes for both.
With the new automated NS MUP process, the question is will each company see that he is working in another job?
Thing is he doesn’t want the security job to know he has a daytime job because they may think he will not be focused during his night duties. and the daytime office job may feel the same as well if they find out he’s been working nights. Informing either employer of his situation and seeking permission is a definite no-no. The crab mentality is strong and he’ll just get penalised just because he’s treading the boundaries even though his performances have been stellar.
In previous ICTs where you’ve to submit your own MUP application, he’s been taking his own leave either from the day job or the security job so that only one MUP is being submitted.
But now it’s going to be automated and 1 month before the ICT the employer and the NS Man will receive the info regarding the MUP amount on the NS Portal. Does this mean both employers will be able to see each other’s contribution and that my friend has been working / moonlighting?
Just a fella trying to make ends meet and so far it hasn’t affected either job’s performance so it would be terribly sad for him to have to give up one job just for this. If this is really the case then once again, NS pwn sinkies.
