Question about reservist

Have not gotten called up yet but got some questions regarding reservist.

How shld I expect reservist to be like as a PES C9L3 with perm excuse heavy load? During nsf was a storeman in non combat unit. So is reservist unit same?

1. most often fit combat men end up same unit / vocation. for those Downgrade, either same unit or end up different unit or different vocation in same unit ect if like in yr case u cant function as intended...


2. this is not true..if yr unit gets called up often in a year it means everyone in that unit have to go.. So its depend on how often the unit call up regardless of rank/vocations.. for men until age 40 , officers get called up until age 50

I think no one can answer ur first question as only CMPB/Mindef knows that definite answer. As for ur second question, nope. Same 10 cycles. Men and specs till 40 years old and officers till 50 years old.

2: Heard from people that if you hold CFC rank then you have more reservist cycles? Is this true?

Dont quite understand the first answer. Are u saying im likely to be back in same vocation and unit?

maybe yes , maybe no. it depend on Mindef / your own unit ect and what they do to u. either one of these


1) Same unit and vocation but excuse heavy load/ physical activities. U sit there do nothing, stay in bunk or maybe they ask u help out in other minor things.

2) yr unit decide to revocate u learn a new thing that is according to yr downgraded Pes like eg. clerk . Stay in same unit or get a new unit ect.

dont worry too much , as long u downgraded already just be happy liao

chances are you will be deployed to store side again... since you ORD as a storeman. very unlikely you will have a change in vocation, unless your unit sends you for some training, but that is rare for reservist.

reservist unit may not necessarily be the same, depending on manpower requirement. some people do end up in the same unit. or at least most likely in same formation, but even then that is not guaranteed. i know some guys who go to completely different units.
