Question about Ryzen build, current rig & Ryzen local availability

Hi guys. Im thinking of jumping on the Ryzen train but im just not sure about a few factors.

Im currently on a 4770k and R9 390 and itchy to upgrade after 4 yrs. How much improvement might i see going to the 1800X and an X370 mobo?

When will Ryzen chips reach local shores? Is.Feb 28th the day they ship or March 2nd? Cos i saw ppl buying gpus before launch dates before(preorder), not sure if this applies to cpus as well.

Your specs still good and relevant currently. I would suggest you wait and see and hold your hyped heart to prevent disappointment/over excited.

Don't bother. AMD Ryzen will most likely be similar to what you have now. Even current gen Kaby Lake also only single digit % faster clock for clock.. i.e., you won't feel the difference.

What excites us is the price and an alternate choice for consumers.

Should upgrade your graphics card and get bigger SSD if you want tangible upgrade...

Ya but seeing more instability and bottlenecking/ stuttering on my com with newer games.The mobo also spoilt already as only can boot up in single channel as opposed to quad channel.

Hence feel is better to start afresh as will also be upgrading to Vega anyway.

maybe u can try reaching out to convergent and see if they are bring any AMD this time rd.

cos right now im not even sure if AMD will send it to SG or not. since that bulldozer period.

You are better off upgrading to a gpu like AMD vega for 4K gaming since your cpu is still considered good.

Z87/Z97 doesn't have quad channel memory. The most are dual channel. I am running on 4770.

You want a bigger gain then just change your GPU. 4770K until now is still a very powerful cpu.

Of cos, if you think your mobo have gone haywire, then it might be time for you to just swap it with a new setup.

Sorry meant to say only can boot in single channel. If i use e dual chamnel config ram slots it wont boot.

Buy a new mobo = 160
Buy a new gpu = 5XX
Buy a new rig 1XXX - 2XXX
