question 1
If i were to sell my Note 4, warranty not registered, and pass the receipt to the buyer. can he register the warranty?

Question 2
The receipt got my IC number, can I cancel it away and pass to he buyer? or does it count as tampered receipt and cannot claim warranty?

speaking from experience(been to samsung customer service for help multiple times)

1. You dont really need to register the warranty because the invoice with the Date is fine

2. You just need an invoice with the IMEI matching the phone. You can definitely blank off the IC number

Sorry to hijack.

Do we still need the receipt after we register the warranty? I thought we just need to quote the IMEI is enough?

yes, you definitely need the receipt while registering warranty is actually a white elephant.

In summary, Yes. For newly launched phone, they may not request for it since it is definitely less than a year.......but u will need to keep ur copy as in the future, they may request to see it.

Manufacturers have gotten wise to the fact that consumers delay registering their warranty, thus, receipt is the only proof of receipt date.

what if a seller has no receipt as he claims that it is a lucky draw prize but there is starhub dealer stamp on the unfilled warranty card? is it still safe to get it as long as the phone IMEI matches that of the warranty card?

Warranty card will do if you will fill out the details of the card and return it to the manufacturer immediately upon purchase. But we should always demand receipt as a proof of purchase.
