but with u around u are adding unnecessary cost to my goals.and costs and loads and fees are a very dirty word in my dictionary.
worse still u claim to be fabulous, but sometimes the banker or investment agent or even insurance agent u are speaking to seems to be way way way more clueless then u a personal investor who spent countless hours at the library reading investment books and researching the market.they try to sell u on silly irrelevant arguments like oh how easy it would be,how flexible it is,dont you want to be xxxx when ur middle age,are u not afraid of the future?oh this savings plans is suitable for ur needs and desires,u can do this blah blah blah,u can do that blah blah blah.
I would agree that having an agent is a cost, but as for necessary for unnecessary that's for you to judge on your own. And I did not claim that I am fabulous, that was your own interpretations.
Not everyone needs someone there to help them with recommendations or administrative procedures. There has got to be reasons as to why agents are still around despite the rising trend in online platform.
My perspective is that you pay for what you get. You can easily search online and find many cases where people have difficulties claiming even with an agent, what do you think it will be like when you don't even have an agent.
In cases where an individual is in coma or whatsoever, he couldn't claim on his own. Yes, his family may be able to do so on his behalf, but only he himself know how many policies he have in force.
And since there wouldn't be any agent to constantly keep in touch with him, he probably wouldn't even remember what he has unless he is a meticulous person who is constant keeping track of all his policies. (You know, like in an excel sheet with the last update being yesterday or something) But to be honest, how many people would?
The list goes on, but if you only want to see the bad in agents, such as unnecessary costs or more ignorant than you, so be it.
I really can't justify for bankers or investment agents. I am a life planner, not an investment guru. If you ask me about investment, I will definitely tell you I'm not good in it.
And perspective wise, I thought insurance is more for protection than anything else.
And if you really think you can handle yourself well enough, there's absolutely no need for you to speak to bankers or investment agents etc. You will be fine on your own.
What you have said suggested that you have probably met quite a few people here and there but no one seems to live up to your standards. If you think you are better than them, then why did you even bother meeting up with them?
Perhaps you have yet to meet someone who you really can trust. Afterall, this is a trust business. And sometimes, rather than how knowledgeable someone is, isn't it more comforting to have someone who's willing to go the extra mile and find out the knowledge for you?
At least you know he/she wouldn't be cheating you as everything out of his/her mouth would be after research done. Ultimately, it's up to you lar! Do or buy whatever that makes you happy is more important.
