If I install ubuntu side by side with Windows already installed and run them as dual boot system, which will be the default OS, ie, which OS will boot if I don't make a choice during boot time?

Thanks to both hlots123 & yusoffb01 for the advice. What I did was to install Ubuntu to a separate HDD with the Win 7 HDD disconnected. I can then have my choice of booting OS from the appropriate HDD from bios. Still trying to get familiar with the behaviour of UEFI bios.

u had spare hdd to install ubuntu? yah tats the best, when u want to keep things nicely separated from ur win7 install.

not sure if ur asus h97 same as my b85m - press F8 during boot to select where to boot from, w/o changing ur uefi boot settings. was looking for which key, but not stated in my manual iirc.

Haha, great men think alike.

I have been trying to remove a rootkit virus in Win 7 without success from my new pc for the past few days. Can't test the F8 key right now. Will post the story when the dust has settled.

That's when spare HDD is very useful:)

Edit: Just tried the F8 key with the infected Win 7 HDD removed from the system. It behaved just like yours...better than F2. Thanks for sharing.
