Wanted ti ask. Recently, I just mive into the area (1year). Although I do not fulfill the 30months requirement. The property is owned by me (not rented). Can I still apply for schools within 1km?

IMHO.
If i read correctly, it is 30 months AFTER.

Hi, the xx months rule is to stay there from now onwards, not the past. It's to ensure your child studying P1 and P2 in 2026-2027 can have enough sleep since the address declared as 1km.

They just continue to rent within that same area. Or extend/renew their lease.

I can't recall if it's from the day of registration for school next year or from the start of the school. I do not remember as I do not have this issue. There are some very comprehensive forum groups (not in edmw) that guide parents on this process. Even xiaohongshu has many very comprehensive guides.

Simple examples, if you have no affiliation with school, will be under phase 2B. To improve your chance
1, stay within 1km from school based on government app One Map, not any map
2, volunteer for 24 months and be selected to be volunteers for the particular org, so that the org will issue you a certificate that you have fulfilled the required hours of xxx.

So if you kids are going into P1 in Jan 2026. You should have done above 2 years prior to Jul 2025 registration exercise. So, your volunteering services should have started before Jul 2023. As for addresses, I can't recall... but for practicality reason of doing the volunteering services, it's better to move early. Please check with those parents groups or forums.

I hope you all are not asking for your kids going to P1 next year, because if yes, I think it's a too late. Go to those parents group, will get clearer answer.
