Hi all,

Looking at the possibility of upgrading my RAM to 16GB via 2 sets of 2x4GB dual channel kits on my B85M pro 4.

Currently using Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 2x4GB dual channel black color kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9). If i add another pair of Corsair Vengeance Low Profile kit, there shouldn't be a problem right?

Also, is it ok if i added the white 1.35V dual channel kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9W)? Given that the current ones are 1.5V.

TIA

You should be fine running mixed RAM kits on the same mobo, it's not like the B85M Pro 4 (or any other LGA 1150 mobo) comes with quad-channel RAM support anyway. (At most dual-channel only)

Any idea if the lower voltage (1.35V) of the white pair will affect anything?

Better to run all at 1.5v to reduce load on the RAM controllers. Don't know if it would cause any complications but better not to risk it.

Is it possible to change the voltage for the 1.35v rams to 1.5v?

As far as I know, nope. People do OC rams but I have no idea how much voltage they bump it up.

Ok thanks! Guess i've gotta look at other white colored dual channel ram then! Or just settle for another black colored pair.

Thanks!
