I understand that some countries currencies are not listed inside the app conversion tab, but we can still use the physical card in the country [eg malaysia] as long as there is sufficient sgd inside the wallet and youtrip will just convert the purchased amount according to the present rate.

my question is, with the above flexibility, we might as well not convert to any foreign currencies at all to be put inside the wallet becoz any un-finished foreign currencies left over after your trip, if u convert them back to sgd will lose 1x conversion rate charges mah.

so just keep sgd inside, don't convert. use it to pay on the spot conversion when overseas better right?

Yup, don't think so much, put some money inside and let Youtrip do its job.
Conversion rate will be close to current Google rates.

I change physical cash to Taiwan dollar, 24 ntd to 1 SGD.
But NTD become stronger during my trip, end up some of my Revolut exchange rate is 23 or 22 NTD to 1 SGD.

Not much la. Go holiday is relax and enjoy.

That's what I do. I just keep money in the SGD wallet.

I think the option is there for some ppl who want to do the virtual version of "change money at money changer when the rates are good". If you're going (say) Japan soon and you think the rates today are good, you can convert and lock in those rates lor. Next time go Japan then spend. Personally I cannot be bothered.

if you see the foreign currency rate is having a good rate you can convert to enjoy the rate. IF you go there and use meaning u are converting to that day's rate.

There's no 'charges'. It's just basically bid-ask spread and taking upon fx risk.

Also, you don't enjoy any positive swap points nor suffer from negative carry.

The rates are as close to interbank as you can get.
