Ohh im very sorry. 1 - 1.5k a pax is for just daily expense.

1-1.5k for 5 days is $200-300 a day.

transport cost is probably going be less than $20 a day for the places u are going. u can used hyperdia to work it out.

admission fee will depend on where u are going. but that can be worked out too.

u probably will have more than $100 left for food, which is quite a lot unless u are going to dine in expensive restaurants.

u can refer to this thread for an idea of how much things cost in japan:

depends on what will u be looking/doing eh.

if u intend to visit all temples and sights in kyoto, 2 days not enough.
kobe imo day trip should be enough but my main aim that time was the illumination.
if u going usj, 1 day will be taken up too

if planning to go to some fancy places to eat, try to plan those during lunch time (cheaper and just as good too)

this will be my first time to japan so very noob. what is usj?

ok my plan is to land in osaka stay there a night. next day to kyoto then stay 2 night there ( hoping to try staying in a ryokan for a night ) then back to osaka for another night. next day to kobe for a night then back to osaka a night.

if its a day lesser then would most likely go from kyoto to kobe then back osaka.

USJ = universal studio japan, which is in osaka.

for 5 days, i would suggest just staying in osaka throughout the 5 days and make day trips to kyoto and kobe. this will save u a lot of time checking in and out of hotels and moving luggage ard. kyoto and kobe are both very near osaka, and it is cheap and fast to get from osaka to these places.

if u want to experience ryokan, just move once and stay at either kyoto or kobe (arima onsen).

so it is going to be something like:
day 1: KIX -> kyoto
day 2: kyoto
day 3: kyoko -> osaka
day 4: osaka -> kobe -> osaka
day 5: osaka -> KIX
or
day 1: KIX -> kobe (arima onsen)
day 2: kobe (arima onsen) -> osaka
day 3: osaka -> kyoto -> osaka
day 4: osaka -> kyoto -> osaka
day 5: osaka -> KIX

Really thank you very much evilerniex for all your advice. will go plan it out again with my partner.

Cause personally i planned.
Day 1 - Osaka.
Day 2 - Osaka - Kyoto ( leaving my big luggage in Osaka hotel or may just bring one 1 luggage along )
Day 3 - Kyoto ( either one day try a ryokan )
Day 4 - Kyoto - Kobe
Day 5 - Kobe - Osaka
Day 6 - Back BKK

or if i got a day extra
Day 1 - Osaka.
Day 2 - Osaka - Kyoto ( leaving my big luggage in Osaka hotel or may just bring one 1 luggage along )
Day 3 - Kyoto ( either one day try a ryokan )
Day 4 - Kyoto - Osaka
Day 5 - Osaka - Kobe
Day 6 - Kobe - Osaka
Day 7 - Back BKK

for kobe i think there is not much point staying a night there coz it is just another city. u can easily make it back to osaka within 30min. unless u planning to visit arima onsen in kobe, then it will be good to stay overnight in an onsen ryokan for the experience

havent been to either, but from map it looks like intercon is nearer. and it is also easier to get there coz just need to follow the road.

if staying in ryokan in kobe, then i wouldnt stay in kyoto already. will make day trips from osaka to kyoto instead. coz osaka got a lot more choices for cheaper hotels and there are lots of shops and eateries that are open at night. kyoto is more quiet at night, with not much to do. it is only about 30min and 560yen from osaka to kyoto

Ok understood. Then will just do a day trip to kobe. While i try out a night at kyoto staying in a ryokan.
