If a hotel put max capacity in a room is 2 adults, are we allowed to squeeze 4 people into the room ?

Will the hotel check and make noise ?

Normally they close one eye but I gana one time staying in a Taipei hotel that ask for 3rd person occupancy payment when they know how many persons that is staying in a room from the security camera installed in the corridor.
