my friend just gotten a new rig. first few months everything is smooth, now it keep on restarts especially when playing CS:GO.

he passed me the rig to do some troubleshoot and funny thing is... everything is running well and smooth. Did stress test on it also no reboot or anything.

passed back to him and the moment he started playing CS:GO online, it restarts again. no BSOD.

any expert can give some enlightenment as i ran out of ideas, even if want to RMA.. also dunno which part to start with. haha..

TIA!

yup i did, no restarts. he bought a new extension plug and also still restarts. i'm guessing if it's power source issue but his previous rig don't have such problem. previous rig's psu is a CM though if that helps. current psu is SF.

Is he staying at the older hdb estate? I had the same issues befire. I ever tripped my whole house's electricity when i first plugged in my com. Turns out that my house's elcd? box was old.

And also because i was 'overloading' the extension socket with fans and other stuff.

Sent from Xiaomi MI PAD using GAGT

Right click on MyComputer/ThisPC>Manage>Event Viewer>Windows Logs

Look at the logs under System and Application for hints when the system restart. There must be some traces or records matching the time of the restart.

yeah, have done that too. but the solutions online didn't help solved it.
the error msg is Critical Kernel-Power, Event ID 41, Task 63.

i think this error shud be log after restart. are there any error clues happening just before restart time?

sadly no error before this event log. haha, the first most puzzling issue after building many rigs.

Can try Vcore voltage bump, this seem to be working with almost exactly the same problem. No BSOD or any problem during stress test, system erratically restart during game play.

When I first had kernel 41 issue on my last build when its new, it was the drivers + how windows loads drivers on quickboot mode with hybrid shutdown. The difference was that it could only occur about twice a week either during boot or shutdown. Since I disabled hybrid shutdown the issue never reoccured.

Cold boot was definitely the cleaner way for the OS to boot, no issues since.

In your case, it occurs just during load so it could be something along the lines of hardware fault. Still, it might be worth trying what I did.

Please tell your friend, His powerline adapter should be plugged in to the wall socket directly and not via a extension Plug

it will degrade the speed
