Just got my first letter and did the deferment but i got this "Thank you for registering for your National Service(NS).
Upon completion of your course in JAN 2014, you will be scheduled for enlistment. Please proceed to click on Continue to do online Pre-enlistment Documentation."

Scheduled for enlistment? Means when my course end i have to go in NS already or if i am still going for higher studies i can still defer?

Better to ask if not later too late i jialat .

If not wrong above a certain age you cannot defer anymore. but i think 18 is still alright if you want to study further.

What i know is regardless of who, except for scholars, must serve first before can go uni.

for u, i think can defer again when the time comes. best is still call ns hotline to enquire

Thanks red devil, will call tomorrow. If not later suddenly cannot defer must go in NS that will really be messed-up.

after ITE want to defer go poly/JC might be possible but if go uni then most probably not...

AFAIK up to diploma or A level can defer. No private diplomas though.

private diploma can. SHATEC is a priv dip but can defer.

there's an age limit of up till 23 years old or something like that.

Go defer all u want, but make sure u get a cert. don't defer for the sake of late going ns.
