as far as I know, route march is not a prerequisite to POP.

That being said there has saying that you maybe asked to return to Tekong during your block leave to re-route March. But unsure if there's any credibility to that or at least may not be the same for everyone.

i pop-ed without doing the final road march. there will always be a couple of people that fallout, had a shorter roadmarch distance or didnt even start the roadmarch (irregardless if distance) due to various reasons. nothing will happen actually.

no re-roadmarch of any sort after pop. no reason for bmtc to touch you post-pop anyway unless you ooced from bmt

No la, I havent clock in my 12km route march

My batch Wave 1 and 2 did 24km, wave 3 did 12 and wave 4 only did 3 due to CAT 1 delaying. Unless your future vocation/Unit needs you to complete 24Km then you need to do again. It was the last route march I do.

BMT Unit like BMTC will try to ensure that your last route march will be 24km by conducting another 16km route march if you miss it. However if it cannot be done, you will only needs to go 16km route march for your POP by starting your route march late & join your main body when they have finish 8km.

After you POP, all post-BMT unit will assume that you have finish 24km route march. It is a taboo to declared that you have not finish your 24km route march to your post BMT unit (Training School or Combat Unit that require route march).

Your post-BMT unit will just ignore the fact that you did not finish 24km route march & ask you to go further km route march directly or just specially conduct a 24km route march for you.

Burning your weekend/rest time for 24km route march is not the main issue for you but burning other people weekend/rest time is your main issue for you.

A route march will at least needs supervising officer (Your OC or Coy 2IC), conducting officer (Your PC), 'accompany commander' at your side or back (Your PL SGT or SC), Company Medic, logistic management (Your CSM or CQ) and logistic support like 1 or 2 x storeman, 2 x drivers (1 x safety rover & 1 x tonner) & 6 x waterpoint IC per 4 km (CQ & storeman can double up as waterpoint IC). I did not even bother to include the marshallers.

Can you see by just conducting extra 1 route march for you, you have indirectly offended other servicemen which is why it is consider a taboo?

Don't say route march. IPPT already marfan enough. Supervising, Conducting, Safety Officer, Neutral, Medic, Driver, Helper(s) for results tabulating. Not to mention all the stores needed. I am a medic and have done IPPT covers for just 1-3 person doing IPPT. Their rank quite high lah...lol

Haha, at least you are supporting someone with high rank that out rank almost every IPPT personnel compare to someone who is a fresh PTE/SCT/OCT without any vocation training yet that majorly of route march personnel can out rank him.

Don't say route march. IPPT already marfan enough. Supervising, Conducting, Safety Officer, Neutral, Medic, Driver, Helper(s) for results tabulating. Not to mention all the stores needed. I am a medic and have done IPPT covers for just 1-3 person doing IPPT. Their rank quite high lah...lol
