I'm thinking of getting a rack to house my gear (switches, servers, access points etc) and am looking for recommendations or to hear from anyone who's done something similar.
1. There are two types: the open frame ones and proper cabinets. In the context of our weather here, would rack cabinets overheat if I'm not putting it in an air-conditioned room?
2. If I get a cabinet and solve the potential cooling issues, does it effectively protect against dust? Cabinets are much more expensive than the open frame versions, so am wondering if its worth it.
