Radeon 7800 HD equivalent

Dear folks,

Sorry for starting a new thread just to help answer my question but I'm not exactly very hardware savvy so I would appreciate some help from kind souls here.

Problem: I was playing games last night when my com was unresponsive for a few seconds and after which it claimed that it just recovered from a crash. After which the screen went gray but the com was still operational ( the background music was still playing)

So i did a hard reboot and upon reaching the windows login screen there were discoloured lines running across the whole screen. I figured my GPU drivers has crashed since its not the first time it has happened and seems to be quite a common issue with the AMD radeon drivers. So did the next sensible thing and deleted/re-installed the driver.

After my reboot from the driver installation, the whole screen just turned black when I reached the windows login. The com is not even functioning evident from the lack of any fan noise, nor could i turn caps lock on/off. Only thing I could do was reboot in safe mode, uninstall the AMD drivers.

So right now I am running on the on-board graphics and upon doing a little research I suspect that my CPU card is fried and needs replacing. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

My question here is, since my com is reaching the peak of its powers and needs replacing soon anyway, what can I get on the current market that is equivalent to my existing GPU AMD Radeon 7800 HD without breaking the bank? I am using the ASUS P8Z77-M PRO mobo by the way.

Would really appreciate the advise and thanks in advance.

Most likely your card has meet the end of light.

If you really just want an equivalent card, then there could only be one left, Sapphire R7 370 for $169 which is sold in lazada.

The better card out there would be the GTX1050 2gb instead. But it cost slightly more at $188 if you dont mind. Lesser power consumption also.

how much are u willing to spends?

beside that compare to current avaliable gpu i would say a gtx 1050 or rx 460 is the one u can consider (slightly higher tier than HD 7800)

Thanks for all the recommendations. Will check out the specs and decide but I think anything less than $200 is fine. Kinda within my budget range.

so far have not seen any ppl badmouthing on which manufacturer in local buy if u buy from other country u might need to self research abit more.

anyway between 1050 and 750 ti. u are better off getting 1050.
