Dear all,
I was browsing through the latest laser, cybermind, tradepac pricelist. I noticed that the powercolor 7870 (reference I assume) was selling at 229 sgd! Was wondering if any bro noticed this offer when at SLS.
Also for any bros looking for cheap gpu.

Saw it But it isnt a Tahiti base card.

7870 got 2 variants.

One is the XT tahiti base and the other is not.

at 229, i dont think anyone minds its the standard pitcarn... :)

Depends on how they compare nors.

If they thinking to hoot the 7850. then the 7870 is definitely a better choice right now in the market with free DMC game.

While this is true, the performance of both are not too far apart at stock speed. I reckoned based on reviews, about 5% to 8% faster than the Pitcairn version.

To be honest, at 229 bucks, I believe it is a good deal.

At $220, it's a no brainer even if it's the Pitcairn-based 7870 :)

I intended to buy a 7850 initially. Should I get this deal if its actually true? Though I can't find it on tradepac price list from their website

Are you referring to power colour 7870 GHz ed 2gb?

You can see it on the HWZ "TradePac" pricelist.

I see it on laser price list which shows
7870 2gb

While

Cybermind was showing the GHz Ed.

What's the difference? Based on google, the normal version seems to be slightly faster?

Basically all HD7870 with a clock of 1000mhz are "Ghz" edition :D

So I guess the 7870 on laser price list is the bang of the buck now with that offer since its 2gb.

Is 500w PSU sufficient for it?

Was about to get a 7850 if I didn't see TS post.
